He does not have a battle net account and is not planning on getting one at this time but I want to get him in on the beta and interested. ok this is what i thought to do but it made it seem like it would go into my account? Will it give me a code? I guess worst case scenario I pay for my wow for 4 months lol

it’ll send the bnet balance in the form of a gift that you can open on the bnet launcher iirc, but i would make sure you can use bnet balance to pre-purchase first
there’s also some weird stuff where you outright can’t gift balance to certain people for whatever reason that doesn’t fall under listed restrictions (was trying to gift a token to a buddy who’s having a rough time irl and blizzard’s system outright just wouldn’t let me do it for him specifically)
just remember that you have to be bnet friends with an account for a certain period of time before you’re able to send them digital gifts
if all else fails, you may be able to open a ticket and explain the situation to a GM who may be able to assist by removing restrictions, but it could also be out of their power
wouldn’t hurt to try though
