I quit 3 months into BFA, so I have no clue how to get to Mechagon with the changes to the intro quests I’ve seen from googling. I see this patch note:
October 20, 2020 - Patch 9.0.1 Hotfixes for October 20 - Class Fixes, Sun Darter Hatchling, No More Stealth Starfall
- Players who are eligible to visit Nazjatar will no longer be prompted upon log in to start the quests: The Wolf’s Offensive. Instead, players can begin their journey to Nazjatar by starting the quest, Send The Fleet.
I’ve read that I have to do the intro to Nazjatar, so I did that. Had to do this whole Azeroth Heart thing and get heart of the forge. Now it’s saying I need to unlock Nazjatar world quests? is this true or was there a change to make it easier? This is so incredibly convoluted for any returning player that it’s mind numbing. All I want to do is get some battle pets from mechagon for godsake.
Does anyone please know for sure what I need to do? Do I really need to fully unlock Nazjatar world quests now? And then what? It is hard to process info on google/wowhead because I wasn’t around for all the pre quests or things that these guides just assume you’ve done, because they were published for active players at the time.

the quest npc to go to mechagon shows up right after you complete the essence quest in the chamber of heart and are sent back to nazjatar. if not at that point, it is for sure when you unlock the world quests in nazjatar
or you can just fly there from northern Drustvar, just open the map see the isle and fly there. Fatigue will appear but you’ll make if you have flight.(or a friend guildy with a passenger mount could take you)
I did the essence quest and the npc still isn’t there in boralus next to the flight npc.
I can’t fly in BFA. I quit before that was possible. I assume the quest is annoyingly long.
no it’s not long. I was horde so I assume it has something to do with gnomes on alliance side, horde side it was visit an inn full of goblins and select certain chat on drop menu and bam away ya go.

I mean to be able to fly in BFA. As far as unlocking Mechagon, so far I’ve spent 2 hours doing pre requisite crap.
before you unlock the starting quest that takes you to Mechagon, you must complete the Achievement “The Heart Forge”.
To complete that achievement, you must do the starting area in Nazjatar, until you open a portal to Dazar´alor/Boralus.
When completed, you will see magni pop up in that area. Check mini map for new quests nearby.
Magni will give you a starting quest in which you end up with the achievement “The Heart Forge”.
…
For Alliance players, you head to Boralus in Tiragard Sound.
Run next to the Flight master and you will see goblins next to it (see pics).
Check minimap and you will see a new quest.
The NPC is called Tinkmaster Overspark.
The starting quest is called “The Legend of Mechagon”.
*oh yeah getting flying will take some time…

The heart forge definitely isn’t enough. I did that and the npc isn’t there. I’m currently now working on unlocking world quests in nazjatar to hopefully make him appear.
Yeah just unlocked world quests in Nazjatar and now finally the npc appeared. Good riddance.
Thanks for the help. I was just hoping they added a shortcut for level 60’s or with the release of SL.

A gnome girl on her mount will show up next you after you open up world quest in Nazjatar. She gives you another quest to talk to another gnome guy standing next to the flight master in Bolarus.
once you open the portal in Nazjatar Magni appears I think. As soon as you turn it in the portal quest for nazjatar.
You have to complete the Achievement “The Heart Forge” & open up world quests in Nazjatar. The last part of opening WQ is the key to getting the quest to go to Mechagon.

yeah but even if you fly there the flight path isnt open
funny to see this post since i just unlocked mechagnomes . one thing is that you don’t have to complete the dungeon to get the achievement . the king has a dialogue option to skip it
alternatiely you can ignore it without worry since once in SL there is a portal next to the flightpath in oribos. i dont unlock it anymore i just use the portal and hearthstone back whenever im done.
you can take portal without heart forge achievement, but you wont be able to turn in dropped item quest
