anyone have any thoughts on how to get more ancestry coins? Years past ive done the elders(been playing since 2004 release), just finished catching up with xpack elders. Only got 51 more coins, need 75 for the mount and ive talked to EVERY elder in the game, plus the quests in moonglade.
is this something i need to rock an alt and get the 75 for the mount or can i somehow get more on my main? Heya @blizzard it would be awesome if coins of ancestry were warband bound!
thanks, though the issue is I’ve already talked to ALL of the elders. Near as i can see they aren’t repeatable. (ive been getting a few a year over the years) The 26 i just did finished out every achievement for the lunar festival. plus the 25 from the moon well quest(charging the staff thing) that seems to be all i can get unless i pop an alt and go do it all over again…
now i have coins in my alts bags, alas they are not warband tradeable…
likely years ago. the only ones i could get were a few from cata, dragon aisles, and a few in eastern/kal that ive missed over the years and the ones from TWW expack
are they repeatable every year? If so ill go get those. I looked up a few and they weren’t there with a quest for me.
You keep saying you’ve talked to all of them in the game and I can tell you that you have definitely not talked to all of the elders if you only have 51. You haven’t even cleared the classic zones yet if you only have 51. I did the 25 coin quest and all of Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms and came out with 82. Then there’s the dungeons, then Northrend, Cataclysm, capital cities, for the achievement, and then the new zone and DF also have them. Use a guide and also the Handynotes pluggin for Lunar Festival, if you need to, but you definitely did not get every one in the game and I’m confused as to how you thought you did, to begin with., even without a guide. They’re everywhere in the classic zones lol
Comparably to other holidays where there are more quests and routes for additional event currency, I would like to see some re-haul for this holiday, at least for the futures potential. While the Hallows Eve currency is similar in nature, with more implementation of war bound items, I would like to see the currency either removed from bags or at least “warbound” for alts.
Hallows Eve has a repeatable daily quest, as well as a boss that incentivizes repeat killing, while I see no point doing the boss more than once. In addition, neither the boss or the boss’s quest provide currency.
Further the costs of items appear far more grindy in comparison to any other event. It’s not even a challenge or interactive issue, rather just a long traveling mission.
The event’s Dragon Armor seems pretty egregious too. While I can afford the armor, 50k Gold for just armor is not on par with any other event I am familiar with. In addition, this is obviously not the event currency, which almost seems they are aware that the event prices are inflated.
You could get Brewfest and Winter’s Veil armor for free, just by participating the bosses.
Also, all the recipes are BOP, which means you HAVE to get on the alt with the associated profession as well.
I appreciate some of the new additions. But structurally, I enjoy this event the least by far.
Do it again on an alt. This is the only way to get more coins after you’ve seen all of the elders. There are more than 80 coins, and you can speak to elders, even if you spoke with them last year.
The event resets the coins every year.
If you only got 51 coins this year, you can go get 30+ more.
If you have gotten all of the coins this year, get on an alt and go start from scratch.
Ok thank you now I believe this quest is a one time thing for each character because the one I chose to collect the coins on does not have this available
But what is… I think it’s wholly unique to this event …
… is that for every other Holiday that has a currency, that currency is DELETED when the Holiday is over. That’s NOT TRUE for Lunar Coins! They stay sb and you can put extra in your bank for next year.
I did the 8 new KA ones, went to the vendor, and bought the new mount … done and done!!! Because I had a ton of coins in my bank from over the years.
If you want to save some of the grind for when another new item is added (prob not for another two years now), put in a little extra work and throw some Coins in your bank for next time.
