Well, if you just want to do it for fun (or create strategies/etc) and ignore the rewards you can:

  • Collect 10k coalescing visions
  • Open PTR
  • Copy your character from live to PTR
  • Do the Horrific Vision
  • Delete the character
  • Repeat step 2

3 actually. Not gonna mention how to get all 3 because it is listed in the comments above, but you can easly get 3 and maybe a 4th if you go hard.

You get 2k for the first minor vision, 1k for the other 6 days. You get enough for another vessel through the minor assaults that reset twice a week. Doing the major assault each week gives you a vessel outright. After rank 7 you only need to do one vision per week to keep up, the others are basically just to farm out the other currency or as a fail safe in case you failed one considering at higher ranks you have to do more than just kill the main boss. This is a much lower time requirement than 8.2. I don’t understand your complaint, and think it’s just because you don’t understand the content.

Am I missing something because I’m lost as to what im supposed to do thats new at all if the new feature is not playable

This is pretty spot on; the only additional ones would be from clearing all daily rares in both zones, opening every chest you can, and looking out for zone events.

  • Dailies and events in new zones
  • Assaults 3x week
  • Lesser visions
  • 3x Horific Visions per week

Then off you go doing what you usually do :

  • Mythic+
  • PvP
  • Raid
  • WQ Emissaries
  • Pet Battles
  • Mog farming
  • Alts.
