How to get into a GDKP as a fresh 60?

How does one with a fresh 60 warrior who is pretty new to classic get into one of these runs? My current gear is pretty scuff at the moment and I imagine you at least need some gear to be allowed in these runs. Trying to gear a fresh DPS warrior who doesn’t like tanking has also been a trouble for me. So it all comes back to how can I join in on this fun?

You don’t unless you are carrying ton of gold to buy, or overgeared for content as a carry.

Gdkp is cancer man, don’t do it. Go on server discord tons of guilds run 2sr pugs and will take fresh 60s to zg, MC, aq20. Gear that out, then you can join bwl and aq40.

I’ll check that out then

Not sure that I would waste the gold or be too worried about it. TBC is not that far away.

Quel’Serrar/Mirahs is a good place to start with weapons for anything not an orc. Not entirely sure what orcs start with, maybe AotDW or Serathil or something.

Run ZG every reset, get full blues or better from there and move on to MC/BWL. If you are full ZG level gear it shouldn’t be a huge struggle to get into these raids from my experience.

MC and BWL are mostly run for jackpot items (QSR, Onslaught, Accuria, CTS, DFT, Tear etc). What this means is there is a decent chance that you can pick up some less sought after items for cheap (Brut Blade, CHT, DTP, Firemaw cloak, Fallen Crusader legs etc).

Once you have some decent (MC/BWL level) gear you should be able to join some AQ40 groups as a carry/buyer. At this point raid leads actually start caring more about who they bring so you kind of have to either be overgeared or prove a willingness to spend. Farm and save a bit of money and come into the raid willing to spend a little bit or at least show that you will bid and you should be fine from there.

I personally recommend trying to bid on every 2.5 token but ultimately lose every bid and claim “meh, I don’t have the rep anyway”. This makes raid leads think you are a real potential buyer for future runs despite not actually spending any money. Naturally you have to have some money and be willing to spend it in case you accidentally win the item.

Also bring world buffs to every 40 man if possible.

I mostly just wanted to do the content still once I hit 60 I didn’t really know what to do

Step 1 : Get BWL attuned
Step 2 : Get Ony Cloak
Step 3 : Get Sugar Daddy

Def need a sugar daddy lmao but I haven’t found a group for ulbrs

Check your servers discord, look and listen to check in LFG to see which guilds run them then check with them to see if they have any qualifications or if you can just sign up, most low lvl raids will simply want someone that has a pulse, and even as a new warrior you should be good for MC, BWL, ZG, and AQ20. For the ZG tokens, decide if you want to pay to get your rep up, and if not skip the ones you won’t be able to hit.

Don’t set your sights on the big items but instead go after the stuff that fewer people want and is going dirt cheap, and remember its all going to be replaced by the time you hit level 63 anyway. It also never hurts to bid, even if someone out bids you. Worst case you walk away with a little gold at the end of the raid.

MC, Ony, ZG, AQ20 are all pretty doable without gear. Only bid the minimum is there’s something of interest. If you get it, great. Otherwise wait for TBC for gear and enjoy the extra cash.

Sounds like you need a more populated server.

Get that money. While you don’t need atunement for aq40 you need some for other raids. Join any small raids you can as soon as possible. Selling carries and raid mats might work, but if you are gearing for vanilla classic do this, if you want to play warrior in tbc classic you can get rank gear.

If you plan on playing in vanilla classic maybe get av rep ring. Overall don’t be afraid to join a bwl or zg gdkp, as the mount, idols, and trinkets might buy you 2-3 pieces of pre-aq40 best in slots.

thats a good way to get noticed, i do weekly gdkp’s and i do notice if someone constantly bids but never wins, and its when they bid 20, next guy goes 30 and the first bidder just doesn’t, but they could obviously use that gear as an upgrade, i know that guy is broke af.

Hate to say it but stick to retail. Your too late to this gravy train.

a fresh 60? Id say depends on your wallet size ?

That’s why you do it on tokens which is reasonable due to the fact that rep is a requirement for the token to be useful. You can stop bidding when the price becomes somewhat average and just act like you aren’t concerned because you lack rep anyway so it is currently useless.

You naturally have to buy something within a few runs though and you need to bring at least some money both in case of accidentally winning a token or if something like a hive defiler drops because not bidding to win on that proves you’re broke.

lmao the good old go back to retail

You be a whale and show them you are a buyer who will fill everyone’s pockets with gold. You just afk and be carried, just don’t wipe the raid. If you aren’t loaded, then you need to be geared and can help carry the raid.
