Man the pre event before TWW was 480 gear, i don’t know what a fresh 70 is even wearing 380?

I was in the same boat because I didn’t do remix or pre event. Can be a bit rough getting to the new zone depending on the class, but not impossible.

Relic of the past VI crafts ilvl 350 gear, world quests give 460 gear, you can do dragonflight dungeons for 460 gear, you can quest sync with a lower level friend and get ilvl 460 gear out of dungeons (should be valid for any timewalking campaign), or quest with them and get gear from the bonus boxes you get from quest syncing (this one is valid all the way up to 80 as it rewards explorer gear at 80), you can level to 71 and get the cloak, rings, amulet, chest, wrists and boots, and helm if you’re an engineer.
That being said, they absolutely should add a relic of the past VII or some equivalent for that slot to get it in line with the single previous expansion where they had relics and crafting marks.
Also you can have a friend run you through mythic dungeons in dragonflight for 493 gear

You could do a couple of the world events maybe?
I don’t think a lot of folks would still be doing time rifts or researchers under fire, but the dreamsurge collection is easily soloable and will give a token for a 460+ piece, and the currency can buy 450 pieces.
You can just fly around whatever zone it’s in and collect currency as long as you can stand to.
Pick up mining, and pick up herbalism,
use https://www.wowhead.com/item=95416/sky-golem or https://www.wowhead.com/item=140500/mechanized-lumber-extractor (so you can harvest while mounted), without the need for specialization points. You want to pump all your points into perception and overloading anyway.

Go ham in TWW zones. Sell materials, buy TWW greens off AH - OR -
Buy (talk to a crafter) level 70 dragonflight armor is dirt cheap to make. It is only ilvl 330, but sounds like you could use it, especially for slots that are really bad. the level 70 blue stuff also covers all slots if I recall. It costs 124 gold to craft a blue level 70 staff, so don’t let crafters grift you on prices for blue dragonflight stuff.
Green TWW ilvl at 70 is 430 I want to say, but the level 71 crafted blues are 530 or so (depends on the quality).
At level 71, buy the level 71 or put in work orders for the level 71 TWW crafted blues, that only covers rings, neck, chest, feet, and wrists. At the same time just do the main story quest, you want to unlock world quests at 80 asap anyway (its also account unlocked after 1 character does it). You can use sigils at 74 (makes the item ilvl 558) if you want to bump those crafted items up even more, i’d skip myself, but it is an option. Then get your fancy 80 blues / do world quests, work towards 590 / 603 crafted armors, delves, dungeons, raids, what not.

Do follower dungeons
I would just get carried by follower dungeons imo.
Do the Dreamsurge quest and fly around to get a billion green orbs. You should be able to buy some pieces.
Thank Blizzard for screwing over fresh 70s, because they listened to the 510+ whiners about how leveling was too easy.

Get TWW and start questing. The armor you pick up goes up pretty quickly to the low 500s. Then do Delves (the first one is part of the campaign quest thread), you get more stuff.
Once you hit 80 you have access to the Vault which you can now access with delves.
Of course if you are into group activity there’s dungeons and raids.

Leveling is still easy. Takes no time at all and getting gear is super easy. People are just whining because they have to put in effort to be able to get gear rather than just be handed raid entry ilvl gear from quests right off the rip. Womp womp.

Yeah solved it now, did world quests till 71. Bought some gear at 71, got some from wqs but can’t do much, relying on other players doing the same quests. It’s an annoying struggle but we made it
