You have to learn the mythic owl mount to get the fire owl form.

You mean the fire owl Flight Form? Yes; obtain the Mythic Fyrakk mount on any character (I think) then the form is unlocked for all past, present, and future Druids on your account. The Moonkin variant is unlocked from a personal drop item off Tindral Sageswift (any difficulty).

I did too for a second. Everything to do with this appearance is unlocked from the mount drop. The mount, Flight form, and hunters pets. You have untill TWW it looks like for it to still be a guaranteed drop (2 per clear). My guild has been farming it for a few weeks now to get everyone the drop. Unfortunately this is the last week to do it unawakened for an easier clear. We were fortunate and I think only 2 people on my raid team still need it.
