Hi guys! Looking to see how I could get the s1 VOTI transmog set for monk. Iv read a few things that say the only way to get the raid finder set is through doing raid finder – but also heard that you can get pieces of gear and then turn them into set pieces at the revival catalyst. Just need a definite answer on this. Thanks
The only way to get the raid finder set now is through LFR. Back in Season One you could have gotten low M+ gear and run it through the catalyst, but that won’t work now.
You can get the Normal and Heroic appearances through solo gameplay pretty easily though. Gear tokens from Forbidden Reach can be catalyzed into normal, and then upgraded to Heroic with books you can rarely loot off rares or treasures there.
Mythic is once again only obtainable through the raid.

Thanks for such a quick response! I would be fine with normal or heroic. So what are the exact items I need to be on the lookout for / the NPCs that I need to get the sets?
In a way, it’s too bad that Blizz doesn’t sell mogs in the in-game shop.
If you go to Forbidden Reach and start killing rares and looting treasures, you’ll start amassing gear tokens pretty quickly. The gear that those create can be run through the catalyst to get the LFR tier appearance (and old seasons don’t require charges so you can do them all at once).
edit: if you have bad luck getting the right tokens, I’m pretty sure you can also buy the gear with the currency that drops there like candy from a vendor in the little town.
The same rares and treasures also drop “tomes” much less often, and those can be used to upgrade that same gear through the usual upgrade system to get the Heroic appearance.
Make sure you catalyze the original gear before upgrading it, or you’ll have to go get more gear tokens to backtrack and get the LFR tint.
Ah okay makes sense. I just killed a rare and got “Primalist Cloth Bracers” but cant use them as they are for another class. So basically keep killing until I get the pieces for my class. Then use them to get gear. Then take that gear to the catalyst to turn into tier? I also got a “Untapped Forbidden knowledge” so guessing thats the tome. Also I have alot of the currency. Which NPC sells the gear directly?

I found them, it’s Mythressa, standing over by the water.
Looks like she sells the 1/3 Primalist gear though, so you’d have to upgrade that to 2/3 before it can be catalyzed into the Normal set (and then 3/3 is the Heroic). But the currency for that also drops like candy from rares there, so it should be a pretty quick process.
Getting all the books you need for Heroic will probably take the longest time. I’d say just keep at it until you have 9 of the books and you’ll probably have everything you need by then.
