This account has been paid every month since day 1 public release = loyal customer. Through all the trials and tribulations, I stuck around
I am writing to inquire how loyal customers could get access to Alpha/Beta ahead of the herd. I have opted in for beta. I have gotten early access before in XPACs.
For note, 212 months * $14.99 = ~$3,177!!! Whew…first time I’ve ever added that up!
I’ve applied for every alpha and beta that was ever open for access, back when they used to require your dxdiag file to show your system specs. I’ve always ran probably like top 5 or 10% computer specs in terms of performance. Have never been selected for anything.
I’m fairly sure at least 60% of the invites that go out are to accounts that have been flagged by blizzard as being streamers or having some form of following. Because it’s free advertising and that’s all they care about.
It’s not confirmation bias when every single streamer with 10k or more followers gets an invite every single alpha or beta of every single game they release when tons of people have never once received an invite.
It’s literally the definition of odds being skewed because it’s virtually impossible for “random” invites to always include every major streamer out of a million people.
And if you really want to forum pvp well i’m not interested but I will just say that at the end of the day neither you nor I actually know any of the numbers so it’s a pointless argument that i’m not going to further any longer.
My account originated in Vanilla; I have bought and played every expansion. It wasn’t until BFA that I got my first Beta invite. I got another one for Shadowlands, about a month and a half before it went live. I am hoping that means my account has been flagged and has an increased chance of receiving the invites. It’s very depressing that my friends get in every single time, but I don’t. I also try to make it a point of reporting every single thing I come across that is wonky.
I probably did 200 hours of torghast testing for them, submitting bugs on weird interactions, etc. Arguably, this go around tho without Torghast, I want to test some of the talent/class changes and mess with Evoker a bit to try and help polish the classes. I feel like that’s the most important part of the upcoming expansion. They need to get classes in a fun spot, because as the lens in which we experience the expansion, it’s going to be vital unless they want record losses for a 3rd xpac in a row.
Definitely, definitely not me. I do not stream, nor do I use social media, except to lurk on reddit mostly. And I have still been in plenty of betas, and now alpha.
While I am a long time player, I also play a lot. I have numerous accounts under my bnet, with over a hundred toons. I tend to do niche things, like making oodles of gold and crafting quite a bit. Maybe that is why - I have no idea, tbh.
Yeah, for some reason I miss AlphaBeta. I don’t know why. It wasn’t the closest store, so we didn’t go often. I guess it’s just the name. “AlphaBeta” is just “grocery store” to me. Funny how that happens when you’re a kid.
