The only way to access the Adamant Vault floors is to score a flawless run.

It will be easier to get 5 stars as 9.1 goes one. Right now most people are probably slightly under geared for that and we haven’t really done the tower “talent” tree yet. Things will get much easier as time progresses and you won’t need to be “pinching pennies” so much to get 5 star.
On layer 9 I got a score of 217 on my shaman, but the shaman is ilvl 222, so I out gear it by a lot. But just for reference, I ended up with all of these bonuses:
Pillager
Savior
Pauper
Trapmaster
Robber
Daredevil
Plunderer
Executioner
Hoarder
Collector
This was the first day, when robber wasn’t a blessing. I used the ravenous on the broker at the end, which gave me 400 phantasma. By saving 100 phantasma prior to that I ended up with 500, which gave me Hoarder. I’ll probably use this trick every time.
On my 216 WW I was less concerned about my score, but still hustled through it. To my surprise I got Flawless on this as well. I didn’t take a SS so I don’t have the breakdown, but it was basically the same as above; all those +5 and +10 really add up.
On my 213 bear I totally failed (a score of 90ish lol). I realized I was taking too long and got overzealous with my empowered pulls, and died a lot! Ravenous Frenzy + Berserk + Ursoc legendary only lasts for so long.
I’m actually really looking forward to TG next week to try and time layer 10. I know some are complaining about time, but I really like the change. I think if you disregard the time and just go after completion and bonuses you should still be able score 160 no problem to unlock the next layer.

There’s no point in the 5 star run until you unlock that from the Box of Many things, correct?

That gets unlocked the first run you do on layer 9. But you’re right the AV access is first unlocked on the talent tree, and then subsequent flawless runs will let you in to those floors.
Every time I read more on this new version of torghast the more I find it absolutely horrible. Don’t pick up the good powers it will make you lose points, how laughable. Now you get punished for good rng roflmao.
So glad I decided to never step foot in there again, the more I hear the worse it sounds.

It’s not necessary it’s just another option for points. Only need 200 score for a flawless.
It’s fine, they can keep the place for all I care now. I thought the whole point of torghast was to get all the best anima powers to be able to get strong and blow it up. Now I see they can’t even get that right. OMG I can’t stop laughing this is so freakin funny, so sad, but so funny.

Grab a resto shaman partner. I hear they’re stupid OP in Torghast.
It still is. Flawless runs are only required for access to Adamant Vaults. You can gather up all the powers you want and “blow it up” and you’ll easily get 4 stars and move onto the next layer.

I just think that tanks can’t kill things fast enough to five star anything. At least I can’t.

Just ran it on my 225 ilvl shadow priest. Cleared everything. Broke everything. Looted everything. Picked my best anima powers because why wouldn’t I? lol.
Ended up with three flipping stars. That’s a feelsbad kind of moment. We’re seriously supposed to avoid the epic anima powers? Isn’t that the freaking antithesis of Torghast? lol. Light have mercy…
ETA: At one point, one of the phantasma snatchybois appeared… and immediately disappeared (“ran way”), so I’m sure that counted against me. Blergh.

Did you look at the details of your score? Something must’ve been missed – over time maybe? Or a death? There’s no death counter anymore but each death costs you 20 points against your overall total.
Players seem too concerned with getting 5 stars, like there’s some secret power hidden in the Adamant Vaults that will just make you inferior if you don’t get in there.
Rofl. only Blizzard would make something that you are supposed to take and then punish you for it. lol
