Looks like some of the holiday content requires T3 draenor garrison.
I have some alts that hadn’t gotten around to this yet. Looking for ways to get the 2k garrison resources to unlock these during winter veil event. I don’t want to spend 10k on the Ogre Cache in the Auction House. I’m also not realistically going to have time to go deep into WoD campaigns or set up lucrative garrison missions. Looking for one-off big time resource scores that I can focus my effort on.
Maybe I imagined it but I thought I read somewhere that during Winter Veil there were garrison resources gifted on the hour but I can’t find anything about that.
Or, is there a way to ship garrison resources from a main to an alt? main has 10k doing nothing.
There isn’t a way to ship them between characters afaik. There’s 7 rares (4 in Tanaan, 3 in Nagrand) that give the most. Somewhere between 100-200ea, for specifics i’d go to the garrison resources thing in wowhead and check comments. Should have enough in 2-3 days and maybe get some toys/pets

But 10k… Ten 600 gold missions and races will take how long? That’s 6k there. Do it twice… 12k. Is that more or less work than leveling your garrison? I don’t know.
super fast, not so much, but you should be able to get it done in a week, I gathered a set of followers, killed some rares, diligently ran missions, and of course looted the cache.
I didn’t realize the trading post could take cheap gathering mats and produce resources, so maybe build the lvl 1 trading post and get those running as well.
There’s supposedly some treasure nodes in Tanaan, but I couldn’t find them… I found one, it had resources, but not worth the time.
As others have said, ogre cache on the auction house or go to Tanaan and farm the crystals that appear in the various zones. You can find the most in the area that has the fel arakoa. (Sorry, in the office or I’d log in and give you the exact name.) depends on whether you want to spend gold or time.
Hey, for both Halloween and Christmas there are garrison decorations. They’re purchased with currency obtained from doing a set of dailies from the Garrison.
Also more narrowly, one of the holiday tailoring patterns for horde only available in the Garrison. Alliance gets it mailed
kill those 3 rare ogres in non-instanced highmaul every day (they can also drop pets), and those 3 that drop those crashin thrashin toys, named Gondar et al, in tanaan, and that Overseer Mudlump guy in non-instanced Hellfire Citadel, also in tanaan. do these 7 mobs every day. and get all the Garry resource treasures from around the zone.
they drop like an average of 150 GR each, so 7 of them plus the treasures around the zone should only take a couple daily resets.
Read this guys post. I have done this for ages and its the best cheapest method. Killing the 6 named ogres + mudlump daily will net you 800-900 resources.

Huge ogre cache is the fastest method, but those things are crazy expensive. Farming named ogres is time-gated, but free. It depends on what your situation is.
I don’t think it is worth setting up a new garrison in WOD at this point. If you want the garrison holiday decorations that much, then buy Huge Ogre Cache off the AH. It will cost plenty of gold, but if you are that desperate, that is the fastest most sure way. You can get garrison resources by doing many of the quests, killing rares, etc, but that takes time. For a small investment (leveling tailoring to 250), I was able to sell a bunch of red winter suits and made a bunch of gold. It is probably easiest to find ways to get gold and then buy huge ogre cache.
