Hello, I missed the huge hype train of classic wow initial release, I played a bit but didnt get too much into raiding. I really like enhance shaman, and i’m leveling up one right now. Sometimes in org I see some walk around with hand of rag, might of menethil, really good enhance gear and I always thought that they were almost required to be resto in raids.
Any approach on raiding as enhance? or do these people just raid as resto and collect great enhance gear over many months?
I think at least one Enh Sham is wanted in raids. So, if you are lucky to be that one you will get hand me downs. Unfortunately, you wont be a priority to gear out ASAP.
I got this from watching Cdew on his Ehn Sham back in classic. =) Things might be different now.

You can play anything what, you are fighting against is player perception not really any challenge in terms of output or bosses. You are still wanted because of totems. Just realize why they are bringing you and be able to flex accordingly and any team will want you. If you are stubborn with enh only it’s an uphill battle.
meme specs are a joke brother. dont hinder urself by playing them. they dont have gear or qol changes, until tbc came along and fixed all of that. bwl/naxx geared enhance shaman i was doing 60 dungeons with was getting out dps by pre raid geared players. its bad dont do it
The only true meme spec in classic is Ret and probably Boomkin. lol

Not to come in here sounding like a meta andy but, aren’t Shadow Priests considered a meme as well? Unless I’m mistaken doesn’t classic have a debuff limit which makes it really undesirable to take that many slots for a class that can just be outperformed without using up those slots?
Course, I don’t think that’ll be a problem if you only plan to do dungeons and stuff, but I think the problems come up for raiding.
No, I didnt mention them cuz they didnt cross my mind. But, yeah SP don’t really bring anything to the raid in classic. (I think) lol
That being said… I love SP in TBC and Wrath. =)
What do you mean how to gear? You just go to the raids and get the gear, ez 
Yeah, I feel that. Playing an Arcane Mage in wrath right now and I like it a lot.
Heard Arcane wasn’t really viable at all in Vanilla either, more of a supplementary spec for PoM and Pyroblasting.
Yeah, Arcane is sick in Wrath and even more so in the 79 bracket. =)

The secret to getting gear for “meme” specs is to NOT play the meme specs in raid.
The people that have full bis enhance or elemental sets usually obtained them by playing resto in raids and picking up the gear once everyone else got it or made agreements with their guilds to get certain priorities on those items. Or of course they bought it all in gdkp
People that attempt to raid as meme specs typically get hardstuck with pre bis, mc/bwl gear unless they’re a streamer or guild leader
If you ain’t raiding as Ret you don’t deserve to pvp as Ret. Don’t pimp yourself out to the man. DFT enhance prio
Run GDKPs on your hybrids, problem solved
Raid as resto and gear up then grab enhance gear that way (maybe via SR runs or something).
