Much, much better talent balancing. More talent paths. Less fake talent “options” that you would be much weaker without, those should be baseline or given decent alternatives.
Doubt it can be fixed, they lack luster & mystic which made wow unique & awesome, the next group of folks have control of it now, and well we see how that has been going, plus WOW isn’t the only choice nowadays, so they will never recover & never have it like it was in the old days. just my 2cents on the matter don’t mean nothing not a thing.
Ok and then you kill the casual playerbase. Not everyone wants new content daily. It’s not fun when you have to sit here and grind gear that’ll only last a month.
The class devs could start playing their class/the game for starters.
Like what is the Warlock dev even doing? Just take demo back to 9.2 and fill in from there. Shambles.
Monk? Ya’ll see the WW tier set? Shambles.
Shadow priest? Shambles.
Hunter? Shambles.
sorry friend. i would be fine if they just added the stealth archer spec, but i figured a burnt offering might sweeten the pot in my favor
so…
more new content = bad
whatever you say, guy.
- Increase the number of mini raids (1-2 bosses) from 0 to at least 3 per expansion. They make the world feel a bit bigger and raiding isnt a one and donr thing every patch
- increase the difficulty and variety of solo content. Mage tower is an amazing example of this. World quests are so brain-dead easy that it isn’t fun to do them
- bring back class content. Hunters should have daily, weekly, and monthly quests to hunt and tame cool, unique animals. Things like this for all classes would be a major point of every expansion.
- a fourth pillar of end content, preferably solo based. Raid, M+, and pvp are all very good but they are not enough IMO. It would be cool to have a solo system that progressively gets harder and drops higher IL gear. As M+ dungeons get higher they drop better stuff. A solo system that copies that idea would be great. It doesnt even have to drop the same IL, but just gives a goal for solo players to improve at and reach
- long, difficult quest lines that have you running into old raids and dungeons from the previous patchs would come back. The scarab lord quest line from vanilla is actually amazing for this. Not all parts of it would translate well now but a lot of it would. Summoning entire raid bosses that dont get killed normally is amazing in an RPG and its been missed since
- a reduction in reskinned collectables and a more interesting grind for the unique models that remain. I actually like the vendors that sold all colors of a mount after hitting exalted. Its lame to rare hunt the red version of a mount, get the dungeon hero achievement for the blue, and dig up dirt mounds for the yellow.
- lastly, i want the world to interact with me more. Its an RPG but our characters dont even seem to exist in the world. If i clear the ruby life pools at a certain keystone level maybe the guards at the life shrine could thank me as i walk by every now and then? In legion on my ele shaman there was a quest where the air elementals near me wouldn’t attack because i had the ele artifact weapon. That felt really cool, and like my character was actually affecting the world he was in. Having the 1st boss in darkheart thicket yell at you as a druid is really fun! I want way more of this
MM hunter, just literally copy the 6.2 MM and use the same tier set every tier. It was excellent. If you ask almost any long-term MM hunter what their favorite tier was, it will be 6.2 with instant cast aimed shots and a smooth rotation with nice, convenient interactions. It’s like making a beautiful painting and then just throwing it in the garbage because you decided you want to fingerpaint instead.
Blizz. If something is good, if something works, stop changing it for NO reason!!
Shadow was largely fine in 10.0.7 and they could have made the changes necessary to delete the chunkiness of spike/flay without backing themselves into the same blade flurry corner outlaw rogue is in. They couldn’t just fix the few talents that needed addressed though. Nope, can’t do that, must ruin. Players weren’t even calling for reworks anymore once it was buffed enough times too.
Delete outlaw? No. Delete you
remove FOMO, adjust lockouts, add more long term meaningful content, such as legendary quests, double up the weekly event quests so there is always a PVE and PVP one running plus a rotation of fun side ones such as pet battles, make the fights intuitive without dbm or weakauras, and let open world rares scale drops to the ilvl or raidfinder to keep world interest active. oh and stop removing content, just add more instead.
make leveling fun again, 2 hour zerg fest with noi chance to see any content sucks.
oh and fix dungeon scaling, im sick of leveling an alt to find the lvl 11 twink is doing everything and i dont get to participate, same with norm DF dungeons, scales the max levels down.
Retcon all of SL as a dream, it doesn’t exist, no jailer. Retcon most of 4th war/BFA, it happened but everyone was in an old gold dream haze and Sylvanas didn’t mean to do uncharacteristic things driven by a spiteful abusive dev given complete control of her erroneously.
This can still be done even now with the excuse the dream lifted for DF or was obstructed or the old god doing it forget to recast the spell, whatever.
Yes.
PvE largely throughout Dragonflight is good. It’s PvP that’s a major problem area, and it’s because when designing the talent trees, Blizzard took no precautions. And they let things like obvious bugs such as the hunter trap root DR and streel trap DR just go blatantly unaddressed for two seasons when people provided the bug report over and over again.
Both aspects of the game need to be looked into, and both aspects of the game need to be maintained. Blizzard is horrific with this involving PvP. In Shadowlands, the gearing was terrible and the gameplay wasn’t horrific but still not good because of how gearing worked. In DF, they addressed gearing but completely let balance just go out the window with zero care, considering they can easily balance PvP and PvE as we see all the time with that little phrase of “in PvP combat or in combat with players”.
Blizzard dropped the ball involving PvP this expansion. Real bad.
Do this and some level of casual players and everyone below them will be dead in the water because they won’t be able to get the next quest. They will have no choice but to quit and that revenue will be lost.
Question is, where do you want to draw the line and cut off all players and their subscriptions below that line?
By the way, Bueller suggested this once when he was doing those videos with that little wormy guy in the attic. They both thought it was a wonderful idea. Just cut the legs off the lower level casual players and drive them and their money away from the game.
There’s a reason Bueller doesn’t run their own game.
to be clear I didn’t mean all current quests get axed out or made harder. Just a larger pool with more interesting/ harder quests added.
there’s simply no way to say this gently to my knowledge. A house cat casually strolling across a key board can complete current world quests. If raising the difficulty by even a smidge pushes players out, they are not medically capable to playing video games. If by chance a person can not longer play the group option is always available. At some point people need to look in a mirror and decide for themselves what their barriers are. Blizz cannot play this game for people
who? and why would you insult someone’s appearance over a video game?
games do this all of the time. No game tries to get literally everyone to play. I hate sports games and will never spend my money on one. Fifa has yet to care. The bar to entry into world quests is literally non existent, raising it off the ground by 1cm will stop nobody. If it does, wow will survive without them. I’m sorry but the game being held back by an imagined group of people so unable to handle any form of challenge is a terrible idea. As harsh as it is, wow wouldn’t miss them if they left
to be fair, it is his day off
Make the game more casual accessible.
-Mythic gear ilvl to be equal to heroic ilvl. Mythic gear differentiation to be cosmetic only.
-World quest gear to scale with ilvl, up to normal raid ilvl.
-Heroic (max) ilvl gear to be available from M+, Raid, rated pvp and challenging solo content.
End goal: It should be very very easy for any player to cap out power (from gear) in any tier.
New power progression systems isolated to specific content pillars (i.e bring back borrowed power) - console buffs and talent trees available similar to the horrific visions console (the more/better you do at content the more powerful you get at that content).
M+ progress to increase power inside M+
Raid progress to increase power inside Raids
Solo instance and Outdoor content progress
PVP no scaling increase of power - by its nature rewards are skill based and should be cosmetic only.
More focus on grounded storytelling and fleshing out the world, factions and a grittier overall tone. Orcs back in charge of the horde (Thrall), a new Hellscream, child of garrosh, typical Hellscream traits and temper - is 100% NOT evil and will never be corrupted. Through interactions with the player and lore NPCs learns what it means to be Horde, its traditions etc… a patriarchal protector figure for the horde, rather than aggressor/generic bad guy.
New Content - Follower system (powered by AI)
Inspired by Garrisons, island expos, WOD bodyguards and Nazjatar followers. Level up and equip an army of followers. They will act as NPC bots for dungeons and raids (to fill missing roles), accompany you on quests and challenges.
Develop a large language model (ChatGPT-style) integration for actual contextual conversation and immersion specifically around warcraft lore and immersion, ability to ask questions of followers “tell me some of your adventures”, “where should we go explore”, “what stats are best for my class”, duel them etc.
Remove race-based factions, any race can pledge to any faction, zones have branching narratives and can be replayed choosing different allegiances.
Revamp racials into a separate talent tree and add many many more allied races (any race/subrace that can fit the existing armour models should be playable), any racial ability should be available to be unlocked for any race… similar to heritage questlines, get a race up with the appropriate reputation and do a quest to unlock it.
Much much more focus on horizontal progress rather than vertical. More specs and classes (given player power is pretty much capped or easily maxed out, tuning should be less of an issue).
Well that’s your opinion but then you don’t depend on the revenue from the players to pay your rent. I’ve often heard the elite players as they look down their nose at the great unwashed masses of lesser players who provide the money needed to keep the lights on.
Without us the elite would not have a game to play.
Get rid of all the ion like devs, they are bad at their job. Fix flying make both types free considering its a 20yr old feature… …
Make druids be uhh… druids again…
Class halls because everyone did like them, yet for some reason it wasn’t continued :/.
More skins for mage tower.
Learn to communicate.
Give it to the players.
People at Blizzard have no idea what they’re doing.
Not if blizzard just actually had more devs working on the game. Not even every class has a dedicated Dev and blizzard is out here making a killing on tokens and the cash shop. Gotta have them profit margins though rather than polish their game and release a reasonable amount of content.
1 single raid for 7 months is absolutely asinine. 8 dungeons for 7 months is honest to God absurd.
Dude is this a damn joke? It is easy to cap out gear. You are in the wrong genre.
