Every complaint/concern that someone has mentioned has been addressed in what I wrote. You don’t have to partake in world pvp, you can simply turn war mode off - if you want to mine/herb, you know the risk. Regarding balance, Blizzard would have so much time on their hands to do so… they would have so much content for players to partake in that they could wait 2 years after these changes before the next content patch where they could do it all over again. Please, tell me how running aimlessly around Oribos is engaging and exciting gameplay while the past 9 expansions are collecting dust. Blizz has the opportunity to make the open world exciting if players opt into that gameplay. And, you’re telling me that you’ve never had a raid you’ve liked more than Castle Nathria? Imagine feeling like you’re really progressing through Ulduar again…that is widely considered one of the greatest raids of all time. That was a moment in time that players look fondly on. Blizz can recreate that and have something for everyone.
Me and this rogue dwarf fought each other outside Kargarth. It went on for days once phase two hit. No matter what time I logged, he was there to grief everyone just off the FP.
True. We all knew each other really really well. We knew the rogues by sight and name.
Phase 1 and 2 were a WoW I really enjoyed… not completely but in ways I didn’t expect. Community being a big thing. Groups forming to do all content even picking pumpkins.
I’m not against updating old raids to be relevant to current again, but timewalking has shown that to be a pipe dream. Updating and balancing them is a non-trivial amount of work for the devs, and also pulls them away from developing new content.
Making the rewards current is even worse. Do you bring back tier sets and borrowed power from expansions past? How will that work with our covenant powers and soulbinds? What about legendaries? Or will the bosses just drop stat sticks that we use with our current power? How do you balance the old fights to fit with that? And above all, how the heck do they make anything new with all that work you’ve just dumped into their laps?
Answer: they don’t. It’s an awful idea.
Probably Fortnite. OP should go play it and leave WoW alone.
I have only skimmed what you have wrote and I disagree.
I will not bother to dissect it. Just no. You don’t know how to fix this game. I have ideas myself but I am definitely very ambitious and it would honestly entirely depend on viewing the status and capabilities of blizzard themselves which I don’t have access to.
I have a very detailed dream WoW that I simply won’t put into words for the sheer massive post it would be to elaborate on.
Your ideas are just going at it the wrong way. It is better to provide feedback and hope for the best. I just don’t see how blizzard can be convinced that they are wrong.
Blizzard looks at $$. They were really hesitant to roll out WoW Classic… it was very much an experiment for them. When Classic did come out, Blizzards subs from Classic alone doubled all of their then current subs/concurrent players (from across all of their titles). This is why they aim to do TBC Classic… it’s also why Shadowlands was delayed because they were trying to incorporate aspects of Classic into Retail - you can see this in some of the professions. If you have other constructive suggestions, feel free to post them as an alternative. Just saying, “this is bad” bears no weight when Blizz can invest almost nothing and revitalize literally every expansion into one super game.
what is weird is that in the past blizzard has stated that they don’t want cool suggestions for new abilities and other things as that “Doesn’t really help them”. They said they would prefer you to say “this is bad. This feels bad.”
Of course providing detailed reasons as to why it feels bad for you is what you should do however.
LMAO oh you mean how it is already insanely profitable?
Stopped reading after this as this cries troll. But if it is a legit post, sorry, but no thank to any of your ideas. I prefer professionals who know what they are doing build the game as they see.
What gaming company do you work for since you seem to know how to make companies billions? Oh yeah, you don’t work for one.
200 honor is too high for just a kill in wPvP.
You have players like me who’d just take my premade buddies and go roll any zone we /who on that has people in it.
Bringing back Warden Towers as an example for what could work for wpvp boons;
x bonus for killing somebody in a tower, with diminishing returns based on how many other people have tagged that person, with all returns removed for being in a raid group.
I’d actually wager the real fix for PvP at this point is to just move to an actual rewards track, not this prestige BS. WoW holding onto outdated structures from 2006, and continually rolling back to it after making progress because they kept trying to take unique spins on stuff that does work in other games, ain’t helping people be interested in PvP in a genre that’s histrionically been successful with grinds.
In the past, perhaps. But the franchise has pretty much abandoned the “faction war” in Shadowlands. Don’t believe me? Might want to do the Maw intro storyline again.
