How To Fix Professions

Preamble:

This is how I would overhaul and fix professions. One of the driving factors in playing World of Warcraft is acquiring gear. This is typically done through raiding and PvP. The objective for most players is to get the best gear to be as strong as possible for completing and competing in end game content. In other words, the central focus of the game is the gear that permits us to participate in the content. With that in mind I would bring back relics as additional gear rewards for players to collect.

Gear is something we are constantly replacing as we progress through the game and as we advance through new patches of content. Because of this, professions that offer enchantments to gear always have a source of income from the auction house. Players enjoy decking out their hard to obtain gear with the best and most expensive enchants, making it even better. I decided that there should be a lot of ways to enhance your gear one way or another.

To bring balance to player selling and income on the auction house, every profession has the ability to enchant something that another cannot. Making each profession unique in what they bring to the table.

Players need more then financial incentives and deserve rewards for achieving and maintaining high level professions. I would bring back profession perks as an added bonus for those players. These perks are purely cosmetic and don’t add a competitive advantage. There perks and bonuses such as mounts would be available across all your characters, as long as that character maintains the profession.
