How to fix M+ pugging, lack of tanks heals and toxicity

i never see toxicity in m+ and don’t feel like there’s a lack of healers.

i could use a lot more tanks though. that one’s on point.

Why would this need to be the case? In the current system if I +3 a 10 NW it could give me a 13 SV. No reason to further complicate things.

Trust me. Key depletion is very much not needed. If a dungeon fails and people leave I’m already punished by having my time wasted. I don’t need to be punished by having my key depleted too. Not to mention that this can create a scenario where all I want to do is a 10 for the week for my vault, I try to use my own key (as per people’s suggestion to get groups), it gets lowered to a 9 because a wipe occurs so I pug the 9, the 9 becomes an 8 because someone messed up again, etc. Its just a loop of punishment that makes me not want to participate in the first place.

People aren’t elitest jerks because they don’t want to invite non-meta classes or people with lesser experience… the concept of a meta isn’t going anywhere either. No matter what game you play, there is a meta and it’s perfectly okay to be selective with the people you invite to your group.

The meta isn’t the problem, the problem is people are far too intimidated or lazy to be the tank or healer… they have zero right to complain that they aren’t getting invited if they aren’t willing to be the solution to their problem.

This thread is about the shortage of tanks and healers in pugged M+. This is literally the opposite of people complaining about not getting invited. Maybe get your head out of your backside and pay attention.

I doubt they’re being filtered out in the way you’re making it look.

That sounds like someone who can’t find a team to play with would say.

There is a shortage because people are unwilling to play the tank or healer role, then they have the audacity to complain about it when you tell them to roll a tank or healer to be the solution, which 9 times out of 10 is a simple spec swap.

I mean, maybe. But it’s also easily bypassed by buying enough carries to get there too.

The funny thing is you assume those types of players are running their own keys. They’re just bricking other people’s keys and avoiding the consequences.

I pugged my own key once in all of DF. I invited a healer and dps with 3k IO in season 2 who didn’t know how to do the first boss in Halls of Infusion. They dropped the Power Field on top of the boss (the huge lightning circle) killing themselves and the tank. We attempted the boss a second time, and they both did the same thing again, with the same results, and then left because the key was no longer timeable.

Before that, in Shadowlands, I pugged my key once and we lost a dps because “I’m not finishing this dungeon with a group where someone is below the tank in damage” and leaves after the first boss. Who was below the tank in dps you may ask? The healer. The run was also listed as “completion for vault probably not timing”. So now I just don’t pug my own keys. I’m not a fan of having my time wasted twice over.

They are being filtered out, period. It doesn’t matter why, that is not the discussion. They are being filtered and then the same people that do the filtering complain about a shortage of the very roles which they filter. That’s not just ironic, it’s absolutely the most insane behavior ever.

I don’t play M+ in pugs because I don’t like the concept. I don’t play games to rush through content. My abilities to play scripted content have zero to do with my desire to pug said content. Pugs suck now due to toxicity and this very statement you made proves as much.

Exactly. But do you understand why? It’s because of people like you that make the game toxic. Seriously, you are so close but you seem to be intentionally avoiding the truth for the sake of not admitting that you are part of the problem.

Not every body even wants to tank or heal. Just because someone has a versatile class it doesn’t mean they want to use all of it. Tanking and healing are very different from DPS and I would not want to force a dedicate DPS to roll tank, especially in high-level content. That would be waste of everyone’s time and just lead to more toxicity

Yeah, it’s always a simple spec swap to go from one to the other. But many people don’t care to have specs for every role and even if they do, it’s likely they have intentions of learning the content for the role they are in so, trying to force someone to switch is counter to their goal.

Again, stop being a jerk and acting like everyone is a bad just because they won’t play with you. Treat people better and the game gets better. It’s not rocket surgery.

More people just need to play tank and healer if m+ is their main way to play they have to, raid has 2 tanks, 3-4 healers, 14-15 DPS at best, DPS only players ratio’d themselves out.

Let’s nerf tanks into the ground, make them do no damage comparatively, remove their sustain, and make them not get invites unless they are a paladin.

Oh and then lets also make it hard as %#^@ to gear up as well.

It really, really is. Blizzard removed some small amount of tanks with TWW nerfs to the role. The community removed the rest by only accepting paladin and discarding 5/6 of the remaining tanks (this of course from over tuning). Tank Gini is historically the highest.

I disagree for the reasons I already posted. Restarting constantly is a nightmare. No thanks.

So then don’t restart. Finish the key and try again. Not really sure I understand your argument, if you start the dungeon and fail with the system we have now you have to do more than restart, your have to build your key up again.

It tells that you think bringing up other options to the level that M+ currently is at is “Sabotaging” M+. If the content is good, surely it doesn’t need to be propped up by being the universal crest catchup system?

Run some keys on tournament realms and you’ll see how tiresome restarting keys is.

Love how now it’s them being too lazy or scared when in reality it’s the toxic community degrading the tanks and healer for the shortage I swear denial at it’s finest.

Who cares what happens on tournament realms? Are you suggesting they shouldn’t change M+ because of MDI? Sorry, I couldn’t care less.
