It’s clearly against Blizzards intention, so how can it be fixed?
Horde apparently are abusing this as well now for easy wins.
Shameful display really.
My initial thought was utterly randomized queue position.

A guildy and I were talking about this while being utterly squeezed for ever miniscule piece of honor at the Frostwolf Graveyard over the weekend. I think a fairly easy (not perfect solution mind you) would be to remove the battleground identifier numbers so it wouldn’t be as easy to coordinate. Obviously this wouldn’t be a perfect fix, but it would make it a little more difficult to coordinate.
Hide the battleground number. Completely remove it from the info sent to Client Side so it can’t even be gamed out of the UI by an LUA script.
Then quadruple the deserter debut. Hell, make Deserter 24 hours.
People can spam a discord when entering the BG. That’s how I got in.
Why go through all this BS with changing numbers and this and that? In the end if players want they will communicate in the same voice chat.
Wont you think about the poor alliance though?
Anything else?
Do I think its fair that we had such a high win rate? No. Do I think that stacking premade 5 man groups into AV with coordinated communication and literally corralling the horde into Frostwolf Graveyard and SLOWLY farming down the reinforcements to win the game is fair? Waiting 30-40 minutes to be bled for every ounce of honor and get zero bonus honor and barely any HKs. No. I’ve been playing wow since Vanilla and I can tell you right now that what happened to me multiple times over the weekend with these AV premade groups was thee worst player experience I have ever encountered. I just stopped queueing AV.
Yes, let’s make more PvP changes until it becomes something barely recognizable and not something players identify with world of warcraft.
The worst mistakes blizzard has made is trying to please pvpers, a group of players who are never happy. Wow has been some of the best pvp in any mmo for years, but it’s still not enough. Let’s cater to the whiners.
That’s fine, when horde simply never queue AV again…
Fix honor gains.
They will as long as they need something from AV. Getting rolled in 95% of the games in classic AV and alliance who needed reputation still queued for it.
Honor gear still requires AV tokens, yes?
Most of us capped tokens.
This was already removed a few months ago. There is no way to get the BG number you are in.
So what’s all the crying about? You obviously got your way in the other bgs and now you want to change AV to cater to you as well?
These were already removed a few months ago. Once you are in a BG, you cannot get its number.
The point of having deserter is to encourage people to leave if they have to AFK. If you increase it to 24 hours people will just AFK more frequently in games.
This is the same strat that horde has been using against alliance for weeks now. Alliance have to premade to do it but it’s no different than horde turtling EVERY GAME while farming hk’s running resources to 0. This is why horde had 1 hour queues for AV a week ago. No alliance that wasn’t afk would voluntarily queue into that mess over and over again getting 200-300 honor per hour.
Outside of the premade difference, which isn’t that big of an issue if people are spamming discord links in the starting room of the bg, this is alliance doing to horde what horde has been doing to alliance.
So how exactly are they determining what AV they are in when there are 18 of them up at once? Or are they just queueing at the same time and getting into the same AV that way?
They queue at the same time and hope they all get in the same AV. Once in an AV, they just say who is in the AV with them and those people join a Discord channel together.
I’m sorry but you cannot downplay the significant advantage that being a premade and being in voice to communicate gives a team. There is a clear difference in mentality between solo queue players vs premade players, which is why in MANY multiplayer games they have different queues for these types of things.
