How to Fix Arms Warrior

The big problem with armor penetration is how armor works. Armor is not a linear function, so the amount of damage you get by removing it varies. Since damage reduction from armor starts off fast and slows down as you add more armor, the inverse means that taking off armor will start off weak and get progressively stronger. This puts you into a situation where mastery is your worst stat up until a certain breakpoint, and then you continuously stack it, even through DR, because its value only gets better the more armor you’re removing.

thats why i said it would be 2 factor armor pen. xx amount + %

So it could be as effective on plate as it is cloth.

also, Arms has no stat worth stacking currently other than versa, so it would still be better than it is now, lol

Coming from a devastation evoker, I really don’t see having balanced stat weights as a bad thing. Stacking one stat lowkey sucks.

mastery is terrible, haste is mediocre and soft capped, crit is terrible. I wouldn’t call that balanced stat weight, just all are equally bad.

Real talk though, lets just say mastery was armor pen. Just from a pve perspective, this means the value of mastery will cap out 100% armor pen, or 42.86% additional damage. Mobs have 30% damage reduction from armor, so your damage will be going from 70% to 100%, a 42.86% increase. Current baseline mastery for arms is 11%, meaning you only need 31.86% more of current mastery to reach the peak damage increase of your suggested change. At 164 mastery per 1%, this means once you hit 5225 mastery (an extremely easy to achieve number), the mastery arms currently has would be better than your suggested mastery could ever be.

Theres no reason to try and figure out how this would work in pvp, since theres really no feasible way to make it balanced in pve. Even a flat reduction makes no sense because for pve the % reduction has to scale up to 100% by 5200 mastery to match the damage output mastery currently provides.

probably reduce damage by 20% remove 2nd charge of charge and heroic leap +2min cd, also bladestorm should be desarmable and CCable and MS effects should be capped to 25% on PvP

just give arms warriors guns

Execute executes people under 15% hp.

I’d be fine with just execute buffs at this point tbh.

Problem with Arms is that it feels like it doesn’t have kill potential anymore, 30k execute wiffs shouldn’t happen lol those are SL numbers.

I’m not saying WoD execute but at least Legion s6/7 level executes.

Execute only does damage if you have every single cooldown popped and you’re targeting a mage or warlock

Yeap, I was just watching Legion PvP vids I miss it so much.

Arms having csmash up all the time and reck was so much better than current.

Execute actually did damage back then.

Legion Arms damage profile with DF utility would be amazing.

dude i miss throwdown so much . it was such a dirty ability :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Someone’s hp is low.

I execute. Nope, they’re still alive.

I execute again. Nope, they’re still alive.

I execute again. Nope, they’re still alive.

At this point, I’m hoping one of my teammates gets the killing blow, because this is just embarrassing.

How often are you leaving ms available and unpressed right now, and for how long

Same question to execute

Usually I try to get 2 stacks of OP before MSing (unless it debuffs need to be put up) beforehand due to mods and tier.

Execute, if EP I try to stack them between OP for bigger MS so usually op → execute → op → execute → ms. If no EP, usually try to get a 40 rage pops.
