How to Ensure We Can Play Together?

I have a friend who has shown interest in playing WoW with me. I am excited to have him join, but I want to make sure we can play together. My main is currently on Mannoroth which does not look like it allows new sign up.

What do I need to do to make sure we can quest and do dungeons together as I teach him the game?

Easiest solution is make an alt and and play alongside them as either a tank or healer.

The only thing you can’t do now between different realms is be in the same guild. Otherwise just add him to friends list via battletag and group up with him for whatever you want to do.
If he’s going to make a cross-faction character, you can’t do queued content together but forming your own party and running dungeons should be fine.

Conversely you can make a new character with him on another realm, and once his character is higher level to match your main, you can do the stuff I said above.

I would add to what others have said with having him try to create a character on Mannoroth in non-peak hours during the week.

Oh, that’s really cool! I’ve been out of the loop for awhile so I didn’t realize that change was made. That’s really awesome. Thank you.

oh and as a friendly reminder if he does manage to get onto the server during the week, remember the zoning/phasing and how it will be difficult in many areas to play with him on an established character.

So, starting a new one with him may be best depending on your plans.
