How to Edit Mode in Exile's Reach

  1. Create your character in their normal race starting area.
  2. Turn on Edit Mode, Action Bars, Auto-Loot, and other settings.
  3. Delete your character. Wait, what?
  4. Recreate the character, same name, race, and class.
  5. Choose Exile’s Reach.

How does this work? So character settings are saved locally, including the layout of your UI elements and options. If you delete a character, their settings don’t delete with it at least not until to the point it can’t be restored. So if you restore a character, or in this case, recreate the character then their settings are saved as long as the recreated character is the same Name, Race, and Class.

Enjoy!

it has always worked this way. If you delete a character and then create a new one with the same name, the game looks at the saved variables folder to see if that character name already exists and if it does it utilizes that folder. This is nothing new.

Or just run this console command when you get off the boat:

/run ShowUIPanel(EditModeManagerFrame)

Aren’t lifehacks supposed to make it easier, faster, or more efficient to achieve the end result? OP is the opposite of that.
