How Do I disable the notification that appears as yellow text in chat when a friend logs in and out. I hate when I am in staring at the screen, contemplating on my life, and a notification pops up telling me Lumpypickles has come online

I don’t mean to revive an old thread, but this just happened. I already had my settings to have friend log-on log-off toggled to unchecked. When i logged in just now, after the reset, it immediately popped up in chat that a friend logged off. I double checked my settings, an sure enough, my settings were as they were before, toggled to not do that. Why did that happen when my settings were set to not show that?
That’s only for battle tag / real ID friends.
Blizzard keeps changing my active character on the forums and it’s really annoying cause they hate me randomly for no reason and I’m tired of having my entire experience on their games be made to be a living nightmare just cause they randomly chose to not like me for no reason on the planet lol anyway blizzard we used to get along but rn I don’t get why you just arbitrarily decided to start making my life a nightmare but please just stop thanks.

Yep! Same here! Come Blizzard WoW Team! What the hell is this bug with popup notifications annoying me while in the middle of game play, and same as you it happens in the center of the screen. This is the first time I’m seeing this happen in WoW, and I been playing since the game came out. I never saw this annoying popup in the middle of my screen before until today!
PLEASE FIX THIS ANNOYING POPUP NOTIFICATION OF FRIENDS GETTING ONLINE, BLIZZARD WOW TEAM! IT’S VERY ANNOYING TO SEE WHILE PLAYING AND IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SCREEN NO LESS!!
It seems this somehow got messed up with the latest update or something, because again I never seen this until today as I started playing. Very frustrating and disrupting during game play! Come on Blizzard Team! This is ridiculous! Please fix this or explain to us how to disable this annoyance! Thank you. - JJ -

Instead of necroing threads from years ago, it’s best to go to Bug Reports and post in those threads from this week.

I already posted a Bug report about this a few minutes ago. I was simply responding to the same issue I experienced, which is what this forum is for, to share issues and or experiences. But yes, I already posted a Bug Report in the bug report section of the forum.
May 11, 2024 - Update Workaround - How to Disable Popup Notification in Center of Screen -
Update: I found a workaround to the annoying popup notification in the center of the screen during game play, until Blizzard fixes the issue with this popping up in the middle of the screen. Players can go to Option, then under Gameplay select Social, from there you will see on the right under social it says Online Friends and Offline Friends. Simply Uncheck both Online Friends and Offline Friends and close the Options window. After that, you shouldn’t see the annoying popup notification in the center of your screen anymore. It worked for me. I hope this helps anyone experiencing the same issue. - Cheers! - JJ -
