a while back I uninstalled a PTR version of wow without using battle net, and it messed up all the files of regular wow. So I uninstalled every single copy of wow, classic, retail, and PTR, and then reinstalled wow later. It’s broken. Addons just don’t load, assets like maps, bags and other UI things take ages to load, and whenever I go somewhere through a portal, the loading screen takes ages, and when it loads there are no NPCs, no signs, and many other things missing before after a minute or so they just load in. When I load into Orgrimmar there are no NPCs or players for like 2 minutes. I need to completely get WOW of my computer for a fresh reinstall. How do I do this?
(also trying to use the fix files feature, does nothing).
Usually you can just manually delete the folders however even if files are left over from a previous installation, they typically don’t cause the issues you are experiencing. If assets and characters are taking a long time to load, this can often be due to slow harddrives or networking issues. One way you could test this is by using another network temporarily like a mobile hotspot. If this doesn’t help, then it may be something on the computer. If you don’t have access to a hotspot, let’s get a MTR test:
Click “Start” and open the game. Let the MTR test run for at least 10 minutes to capture this issue occurring.
Click “Copy text to clipboard”
Type two sets of four squiggly lines and then paste the contents of the WinMTR test between: ~~~~ Paste WinMTR Test Results Here ~~~~
Note: If it’s not letting you post, break links by adding a space before .com/.net, so you can post them. You can also upload the MTR contents through Pastebin and post the link (ex: Pastebin (dot) com/123456).
I found that there was 2 copies of WOW, both in D and C drive. I managed to fix some of the problems and I’m just going to install it to C. I think everything works fine now thanks!
