So today we are playing some 2’s around 1950 rated. We had 2 different matched with ele shaman where one of us gets 1 shotted by the vesper totem. They pop storm keeper and then vesper totem and boom 1 shotted instantly from full health. I don’t play and ele shaman, I have a rival 2 rsham but tried ele just a little bit and not as kyrian but necro. My husband is on his demon hunter. I just would like to know what’s the best way to deal with these kryian ele shamans and how to counter the vesper totem. Please help, this is annoying. Like I said we are playing disc priest/Dh.
I have yet to run into anyone playing this yet, but I’m curious how much health do those totems have?
If it’s reasonably low the play might be to CC the shaman when he drops the totem down and kill the totem really quick.

Kill it.
It’s always going to be preceded by storm keeper, ancestral guidance, skyfury etc
It’s 10% of the shamans hp so your dh jus needs to do 5k damage to it

Yeah I just starsurge it as soon as I see it. It’s gimmicky and if done well can only leave you with a global or two window but, that’s really the only option I think.

yeah, the thing is they purposefully try to hide it out of you LOS, so it is tricky to see and kill. Were going to be paying attention to it more now. We havent seen very many Kyrian ele shamans this season, its definitely not common but its deadly when they do it right. My husband thinks the best way to deal with it is to CC the shaman through stormkeeper since the totem can be out of range or out of LOS.
The totem lasts for 30 seconds.
Stormkeeper is 15 seconds.
That’s a lot of cc.
Definitely have to use whatever tools you need to and kill it. You’re not gonna be able to cc the shaman until it expires. If you see the kyrian is ele dh prob saves a dash and trinket to get it
If it’s possible to duck behind Los for stormkeeper that’s actually a good strategy. It’s not always a thing but hiding behind a pillar for 15s works. shaman has no mobility so if you blink back and los then you’re probably good.
Na, you’re missing the idea.
They can move the totem, so they drop it in africa so you can’t kill it, fill it with damage, stormkeeper, adn that first lightning bolt from stormkeeper will proc it’s damage. So they drop it on top of you and press that instant lightning bolt and you die.
So the idea is that the second they drop it you encap the sham (or whatever), and get to the totem to kill it so he can’t move it, or fill it up. You won’t be able to get to it before it kills you because they drop it in such awkward spots.
That’s the idea at least.

they’ll always stormkeeper/skyfury
when you run out of ways to prevent their setup just hunker down and save your global so you can get the totem he puts on top of you the global he puts it there before he spends a SK stack

LOS it. Kill it (it has like 6k hp). Lock the shaman. CC him…
its really gimmicky, and anyone who gets the burst off deserves to chunk u for your HP bar. Especially since there are so many counters to it.
and dont worry, in 2 days, its gonna only hit you for like 40k when everyone has 70k+ hp.
