Especially the ones that threatens to leave the dungeon?
I was in a random TBC dungeon (as a healer), there’s this tank who afk for 15 whole minutes at the dungeon entrance just to get his coffee. While we’re waiting one of the dps tried pulling a pack, nobody died.
Ok so he proceed to pull a bigger pack, which of course nobody could hold aggro and all those mobs came at me, which isn’t really a big problem, nobody died because I’m a competent healer and I know how to use my bear form (I took Guardian Affinity). I kindly inform that dps if he wants to pull without the tank he better make sure he can hold aggro, so nobody dares to pull any mob afterwards.
10 minutes later the tank came back, and starts berating everyone (including me) saying the f word multiple times, because a dps got bored for waiting. Fine, I don’t want to argue with him so I kept quiet.
The tank then proceed to pull two packs of mobs and a boss (in a TBC dungeon), I’m struggling to keep him alive and I didn’t notice there’s a pack of mobs walking to my direction from my back, so now I have to heal the tank who’s tanking two packs of mobs and a boss, and myself tanking another pack (which the tank didn’t even tried to pull them away from me), but in the end I managed to kept everyone alive.
Did I get any appreciation for my supreme healing skills? No. The tank gave me another 5 f curses and threatens to leave if anyone pulls another pack by accident (which I left instead because those DPS voted no to kick that tank).
As someone who mostly queue as a healer on leveling dungeons I’ve met so many of these tanks it’s not even funny. I don’t have any problem with DPS because some of them will listen to me when I told them not to stand in fire, but those who didn’t will listen to me after I leave them to die once.

Well, your options are pretty much to not pug, kick them, suffer through it, or leave.

Kick them. If he’s really being as bad as you say he is, you should have no problem passing a vote to kick against him.

I started a vote kick and wrote “attitude” as the reason but for some reason those DPS voted no, so I left instead.

why in the world would you not have vote kicked him after 2-3 minutes afk at the start???
I can’t even imagine waiting 15 minutes for some random dude in LFG
but yea. tha’ts how you deal with players like that. of any role.
you vote kick them.
and if the vote kick fails and they’re truly that awful, you leave.
life’s too short to let people like that have any of your time.
also: put them on ignore so you aren’t grouped with them in the future.

One of the dps started a vote kick after 2 - 3 minutes but I decided to give the tank some time, because I never thought it would take 15 minutes to get some coffee.

Kick them, it really doesn’t take very long to replace tanks as some suggest. And if it does take long. Ask a group member to switch or you yourself can switch if your class can tank. Abusive tank gone and the run should be smooth sailing.
He probably needed to poo and was too embarrassed to say otherwise. Must not have been very satisfying though since it sounds like he was still constipated afterwards.
In all honesty though, as much as I dislike dps pulling trash packs for tanks while the tanks are active, this guy just sounds like the type you’d want to vote kick instantly. And if that doesn’t work out, leave and queue again, and hope that you find a better group this time.

Well if a tank comes in says they need to go afk for a bit ask how long if it’s longer than 5 minutes, kick them. Getting coffee/food, going to the bathroom can be & should be done before you join a group. Only things I’ll allow a pass on is if they need to take a dog outside or they have a small child that needs attending.

Kicking them when they are AFK is the best part. If you zone in, and they say AFK, kick 'em, especially if they are a tank or healer who knew they’d get a pop in a few minutes or seconds.

it’s TBC… you will get a better tank in no time…
yes tbc is better because of DKs they can queue as soon they are created and they are perfect for heritage armors farm.

“Bye”
Seriously just let the drama queen go
Kick them. You will get a new tank in a few seconds.

I -love- kicking tanks. They never expect it to happen, and the wait for a new one is rarely long. Enjoy the debuff, diva!
First problem, you waited instead of kicking him.
Second problem, should have kicked him or left yourself. Don’t put up with rage from randos.
Third problem, you should have told him bye, kicked him, or left yourself.
People act like that because they can get away with it. More people need to not let them.

honestly i love leveling as a healer and i dont encounter a lot of people like this, I can maybe count on 2 hands the number of times I’ve been genuinely annoyed at someone in my dungeon group
I believe that many tanks you get while levelling are actually dps mains rather than full time tanks.
Personally as a dps if the tank goes afk I just switch to tank and do it myself.
