How to break up with one raid team for another

Probably a dumb question, but what’s the best way to go from one raid team to another without burning any bridges?

I have been raiding with a “friend’s” team for a little over a year now. But I don’t feel close to anyone on the team. That and the end time isn’t convenient for my sleep and work schedule. But I stuck it out because I wanted to raid, and he offered me a spot when my other raid team fell apart.

Earlier this week, I trialed with another team and it’s a MUCH better fit in terms of schedule and environment. But how do I tell my friend I want to quit his raid team without upsetting him or causing drama?

Invite said close friend to new team? And then tell him/her their friends suck and you don’t like em’ at all and their schedule totally sucks and your new team is 10000% better.

Just tell them straight up.

Tell them exactly this. Giving them also a warning 1-2 weeks before leaving is also a good way to deal with it.

just tell them excatly what you said, it’s not working with work. If they are cool then they will understand.

Just tell them straight up, hey you got a better situation for yourself (about time and such) and you’re going to take that opportunity. Honesty is the best policy.

By being honest, respectful, and giving them a week or so notice. It is perfectly ok to switch raid teams for something that works with your life and schedule. Just tell them that.

99% chance nobody even notices. Peoples relationships in game are not nearly what they think.

You could do what one of our healers did back when I had a guild in Nya’lotha.

Leave after the first pull of raid night and join your new guild for their raid night without saying anything.

And when people whisper you about it, say “lol.”

Just say the new guild works better due to time/days.

If your friend gets upset about that, then that’s on him. You can still do keys or pvp or watch dashcam videos on discord together even if you’re not in the same guild.

If you have a regular raid team and don’t show up that most certainly gets noticed. The whole team gets stuck waiting on you and wondering where you are. Not nice to do.

It is far more polite to just tell them so they can replace the raid slot and still start on time.

Llisten, I know how it looks. The grass is not always greener trust. I would say first keep both teams and keep goin for a week or so. THEN finally tell ur old team. :cloud_with_rain: I learned the hard way.

Just say you’re leaving, why, go next? Like it’s decent ethics.

If this burned a bridge or started drama then your friend isn’t really your friend, imo.

Just tell them something like, hey, I found a raid team that suits me better. I hope you come with me or at least make plans to do something else in game together.

This shouldn’t be an issue?

You just explain the situation, if they are really “friends” they will understand the situation isn’t personal and be fine with it.

just tag them in the forum post

Just say: “Yo I’m leaving”
