i am just a casual PVPer. Mostly do Chill 2s. i don’t struggle that much against other class but when there is a UH DK, my woes begins. Ret is strong in HOJ+Wings Combo. If HOJ is dispelled or properly countered paladins can’t keep uptime of wings. its so hard to land HOJ on DK. They have so many CD Against HOJ. IBF, Trinket, AMS ( if human then one more trinket). Also if you pop wings , they can slow you to the death, if you pop freedom , they will stun you with pet or aphyxiate. Paladin’s Eye for an Eye and BOP is totally Useless against Disease Damage. I need some pro tips on how you guys counter a UHDK
I’m far from being a top player but when I face uhdk I change my build. I’m playing with ES and Inquisition. I’ll hoj the healer and swap on him to burst him down real quick. I don’t bother trying to kill the dk. Any good dk will play with amz versus you and will negate alot of your dmg.
Build 3 holy power pop Inquisition. Build 5 holy power and make sure judgement is not on cd. Hoj the healer pop wings use ES, judgement, templar verdict, wake of ashes, templar verdict.
Watch the dk leave the game.

I thought that most ret paladins just press Wings and obliterate their target with no setup or skill?

Use cleanse on CD and since you’re running crusade I would go with execution Sentence and get your haste to about 17%-20% for a soft cap and more mastery.
You’re never going to kill an unh dk before 50% dampening because of death strike

Ret burst is one of the easiest things to avoid in the game. Save your CC and mobility and GG. All rogue has to do is Kidney Vendetta, and if that doesn’t work Cloak and Vanish then wait for cd’s again.

Cc DK. Kill the other guy. They are live Lord’s against everything. But can negate of pally damage even more so…

Go with divine purpose. Less intense rotation and faster uptake in abilities of proccing well but their stupid green bubble absorbs massive amount of dmg
Rarely does a rogue kill me. But I do usually end up using lay of hands

I don’t really like DP in arena to be honest. I keep switching between Inquisition and Crusade. I hate the rng behind DP + the nerf in pvp
I have more buttons/binds on my ret than on my rogue
