How to balance spell power / stamina as prot Paladin?

I ran a ZA and j got to play with a T6 tank and the set was cool 13.5k health / nearly 900 SP unbuffed

My set is 16.7k stamina but 469 SP.

But with my set 2 T4 pieces give threat boost, etc.

People claimed I was much easier to heal and the set was crushable, not uncrushable too.

The other pally was uncrushable.

Based on my experience, why does it seem to be more efficient to stack stamina?

In regards to consumables you can use a flask for +80 SP, food, oil which that alone gets me to 610 SP?

What should be the bare minimum spellpower?

You really need to carry a threat set and a mitigation set to deal with different group comps. If I am tanking a hard hitting boss, I will put on my mitigation gear which gives me a raid buffed 21k health and about 600 spellpower (buffed). If I am trying to stay ahead of pumper dps I go for something like 17.5k health buffed and near 1000 spellpower (buffed with flask of light). Oh, well and sometimes you need to carry a healing set when the fight only needs 1 tank…and a resist set for fire. I have like 3 bag slots available and I run 20 slot bags.

As a former prot pally and someone who has a friend who mains one currently, the above poster is absolutely right.

Have s threat set with high spellpower, and a “main tank” set with high stamina and avoidance. Both should be uncrushable sets imo.

This setup will allow you to swap to whatever encounter is at hand, whether you are tanking illidan or tanking aoe trash packs in ssc.
