It’s not as simple as ‘join a good guild’ because the loot distribution in classic WoW is miniscule - 2 item drops off a boss for 40 players. If you aren’t friends with a GM/officer, you stand no chance to get the items you want in a timely fashion (before the end of the shortened timeline). And as far as SR goes, as we see in SOD, every single good item will be HR by the raid leaders. As someone who doesn’t have the capacity to form and lead 40 man raids, it feels like there’s no way to avoid this toxic raid environment in upcoming classic Fresh.
Honestly, this is always gonna be a problem and it will cause friction in guilds and communities. Thankfully, you don’t have to wait too long for TBC to drop so the gear you desire now will be obsolete soon after.
Ya but the whole point of a third release of classic WoW is to get a fresh experience and be able to do things you weren’t able to the first 2 times around. If you aren’t in tight with a guild or go through the pain of hosting your own runs you get to watch everyone else scoop all the gear after you sit in a raid for hours.
If they cared about keeping the community clean, they’d outlaw HR runs. But we won’t get that so you gotta take it or leave it.
They can ban GDKPs why not HR

Your guess is as good as mine.
Not a fan of either of those loot systems myself. Would be thrilled with a semi-hardcore guild that uses EPGP but I’m trying to remain cautiously optimistic and not allow my hopes to get too high. I suppose we’ll see next Thursday.

Yeah, everyone is on their high horse about GDKP but instead it’ll be like SOD where you need to pay 50g+ consumes and 50g respec and need to purple parse for EZ content and BEG to be invited to a raid just for the raid lead to rug you like a sh*tcoin dev at the last minute and give the leather pants to his warrior buddy. SOD was the most botted thing I’ve ever seen too, so it’s not like the ban stopped the swiping. If they don’t give us dual spec at least it’ll be super rough, just more of the same of the sweats with no lives buying gold and getting all the good stuff then artificially gatekeeping you and trying to talk to you like a micromanaging boss.

But seriously, this was probably the best wow blizzard way that fixed this imo. RNG liked you or hated you. RNG doesn’t care how good the guild leader’s other half is in bed either to put it bluntly lol.
You avoid it by allowing GDKP.

EPGP or DKP(The system GDKP is based on) duderino.
EPGP is good for guilds that like to keep everything in houses you can reward people for making Pots for raids or farming for people to make raid stuff.
DKP is staight up just “You get points for attending raids and downing bosses, spend those points on gear.”
EPGP is fantastic so long as, like you say, you can keep it in house and your entire raid team is in the same guild. Things can get awfully funny when you have to pug a few spots though. Still my favorite loot system despite any quirks it might have.

I’ve had a little guild running exp in classic and let me tell you, it sucks!
But the only people we were hesitant to give loot to where the trials that we weren’t sure would show up from week to week.
When you are a part of a guild it’s about the strength of the guild not you. Thats a big reason everyone is so in love with these stupid az gdkps, ruins the community and promotes selfish behavior.
What are you on about? GDKP isn’t even mentioned here so go troll someone else you low life. Insane to think you can just join a good guild or start your own - talking about 99% of the player base who can’t commit enough time to make a guild, roster 40 man raids, fill pugs, distribute loot, deal with creatures like yourself who sit all day on forums with no job
