How to appear offline to guild

Is there a way to appear offline to the guild?

For reasons I won’t go into, I want to play my main but don’t want to show up in guild as being online. I’m showing as offline to bnet, but still online in guild. Anyway to show as offline to the guild too?

There is no way to do this currently.

/dnd I’m out!

Then don’t respond to anyone trying to talk to you.

Well that sucks. Oh well.

Quit the guild, and enjoy the awesome freedom to do anything you want at anytime.

Send a badly worded reply to everyone from the guild the contacts you, tell them you are your little brother/sister and your getting free candy for gold farming for nice big brother.

For those suggesting gquit, the guild is actually awesome. Really happy in the guild tbh. Just one random who wanted to talk politics and I’m not in the mood.

Showing as invisible would just be convenient right now for reasons I won’t go into.

Oh well. I’ll survive.

There is always the option to ignore. Don’t feel obligated to always respond.

Just tell them you are not in a talking mood at the time. If they get offended, don’t take it personal.

No, there’s no way to show offline to your guild, nor your in-game / character friend’s list. In other words, if I make a character on your server, and add Ravalastana, any time you log on her regardless of whether or not you are hiding offline, I can see you online and what zone you’re in.

Is there any particular reason you can’t put the guy on ignore?

Just feeling anti-social and wondering if there was a way.

No guy is annoying me.

Edit: just realised I’d already said the issue was the politics talk.

I lied. Said I was going offline. Would prefer to actually show that.

/sigh

The ignore list is gender-agnostic.

Perhaps in your guild. In my guild, I hear and see everything. If a flea belches, I will know about it.

I never joined a guild, but I’m assuming if you report that person to the guild officers then they might kick that person out or at least tell that person to chill with the politics.

Take it up with guild officers. Can’t imagine a guild in this day and age that want politics in their chat.

Just say: “Am sorry, I don’t want to talk about it.” And cut off communications. And really really do NOT reply to the witty taunts that try to drag you into arguing.

Repeat the mantras:
“Nothing good comes from people.”
“No response is the best response.”

oooooom oooooom

I may reach out to the GM/Officers and suggest that they put up something about keeping politics out of it. I haven’t decided yet.

Most of the guild seems to lean differently to me which is why I hesitate. I don’t mind if they have different opinions, everyone gets to have their own view, but I didn’t join to have conversations about who I should vote for.

Edit: I won’t approach GM/Officers. I just won’t engage in future. Easy enough to just not common on politics. I’ll just be wise enough to not do so next time.

Be a mature adult and tell your fellow guildies you dont participate in the talk of politics with others due to its volatile nature. If they understand and don’t bring you into it no worries. If they continue to bring you into it then put them on ignore for awhile. If it becomes a huge issue then maybe you aren’t in a cool nice guild. And if you’re fragile about such heated topics and just wish not to see guild chat for awhile right click on the guild word and put in a new tab and ignore the chat tab.
