How to afford Artisan Flying?

EDIT: Corrected it to “Artisan Flying”.

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have hit level 70 and am nowhere near close to being able to afford the next level of flying. I only have 1,200 gold (a lovely member of my guild gave me 500g early on), and this next level costs over 4k. How am I expected to afford it? Does anyone have any helpful tips on how to even reach such a lofty amount of currency?

I sold a pet on auction for about 500g below the lowest bid to get flying for my alliance alt, and had a few thousand gold left over

it’s the usual route i take to get gold for alts that i can’t mail it to

faster flying isn’t need, buy when you save up money

You have basic flight, anything beyond that is considered a luxury and is optional.
As is flight, in most cases. But if you don’t have more than enough gold to pay for it by the time you reach max level, then you’re doing something wrong.

Helpful Hints, from an old gamer:

  1. Learn the Auction House(AH). I see several encouraging posts, with excellent examples already made. go to it!
  2. Eyes on the Prize, or ‘Save it like Ebenezer’. Buy NOTHING until you get what you desire! Priorities.
  3. Grind. Playing the game gets you not only gold rewards(among other things) but also some loot drops which can be auctioned; see #1.

Good luck!

Farm up the book “Mailbox dancing and You!” it drops off any floozy look mob in game.

Just keep leveling up, don’t worry you will get enough gold in no time.

Just dinged 81 and I have the 5000 gold in my bag.
Just a odd thing to ask when I clicked on the riding trader a nearly a hour ago.

Have fun, but I skin and Herblisim and sold some stuff on AH.
No I did not pay for it.

Although 3 years ago I did pay to take the Neatherwing quest line for the Drakes.

your absolute best bet, get to a much higher level, and then go back and run some big old raids for lots of loot

Back in my day, gold wasn’t easy to come by.

You had to get gathering professions and actually level them (although they were quite lucrative)

Nowadays, you can just buy sell a WoWToken and not worry about it.

5kg is very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very (do you get it now?) little gold compared to 10-12 years ago. I’m sure if you asked in trade someone would give it to you!

^ This. None of my characters have been able to afford 280% flying upon hitting level 70. It’s something they buy when they can afford it and still have several thousand gold left over.

Tip: Get exalted with Orgrimmar and then you can buy it from the flying trainer there for exactly 4k.

^ This is bad advice. Don’t do this. Earn the gold yourself.

I skipped it at the time and around level 80 or so I could buy it comfortably. Honestly, the difference isn’t that big.

For new players who dont have easy access to gold or the knowledge on how to use ah gold gains are very poor.

Its honestly bad design by blizzard.

The simplest solution is to buy a sub token for 20 bucks and sell it on ah for a few 100k gold. That will keep you set for a while.

I mean sure it’s bad advice, but 5k gold is literally NOTHING in this game anymore.

If anything, get to 110 and go get some of the pets from old raids. 4 or 5 should get you enough gold.
