How to Address Premades in Classic Battlegrounds

Alright. Lets agree to make those experiences of higher quality, rather than of poorer quality.

That’s an interesting generalization to baselessly make. As one of those people, I disagree, thus disproving your claim.

There was a reason why people thought Vanilla gameplay was worthy of preservation.

That reason isn’t likely to be identical for every player. In my opinoin, it was because the gameplay had an inherent value. It was the combat, the itemization systems and constraints, and the content.

For me, it wasn’t so you could force vast team power imbalances because you wanted rank 14 gear. Players who are are negatively affecting the integrity of the gameplay defend their right to do so for purposes of personal gain.

They’re hiding that intention behind a mask of ‘preservation’ and ‘nochanges’ that only serves to reduce the quality of the gameplay which pervades the game and leave it in a de-naturalized state as a result of implementations like increased bracket sizes and cross server battlegrounds, which leave the game feeling altered and inauthentic.

Vanilla was, to many players who enjoyed it, the height of the game’s integrity, even if the systems weren’t perfect – such as in the case of premade groups dominating a game type players could queue for alone.

If there was something worthy of preservation from that period in the game’s history, I don’t believe it was the systems which had the effect of reducing the quality of its gameplay. Premades have always had an unnecessarily negative effect on the experience of combat in PvP content to the detriment of every player who seeks itemized reward from the PvP endgame progression system; either by providing no challenge, or by presupposing an insurmountable one as a direct result of a player controlled variable in a competitive game format – which frequently had the effect of forcing vast team quality imbalances.

I have always seen premades as an abuse of matchmaking systems which offers undeserved benefit to the players exploiting them, because most games which propose to pit a premade team against a pug is a free win for the players who queued as a team – effectively eliminating the fair contest between teams which is supposed to happen after the match starts, and not before.

The result is, and always has been, poor quality gameplay in every case where a premade is matchmade with a pug. To suggest otherwise is indefensible.

I agree.

We just happen to disagree on what basis we should measure quality. The more accurate to vanilla, the higher quality, as the entire purpose of Classic is to recreate vanilla.

You seek to change the content, though.

This topic fails to address the Alliance Pagle premades. Horde pugs beat them

Pagle… yes PUGs beat them often. What they do against horde premades is pretty funny with them trying to hide under bridges and making arrows at the flag and the like.

This is my correct char re the Pagle premades. Ive played hundreds of AB games…maybe beat ally premades a half dozen times as a pug. As a pre-made AB ive lost 3 times in the last 2 months: to the herod premade twice and the krom helmet

We’re in agreement, so long as we’re talking about Vanilla’s combat/objective oriented gameplay, and not it’s broken systems that players are abusing for the purposes of acquiring reward, resulting in frequent instances of gameplay which feels inauthentic and unfair.

Quality, here, is universal as defined by game theory.

You can’t even construct a half decent argument, so you resort to belittling the OP instead.
The only thing sad about this thread, is your pathetic attempts to patronize.

you’re asking for mushrooms on a big mac

if you dont like a big mac, dont go to mcd’s and order one.

this is the game.
do you want to play it or not?

Battlegrounds aren’t traditional group content in the sense that you can’t queue for a dungeon or raid without first constructing a group.

You’re ignoring that this exists as an option, and suggesting that queuing with a group is the only way to play the game variant with any hope of success.

My question is this: Why offer solo queue as an option at all?

I would prefer that they removed that option entirely rather than allowing premade groups to continue to exploit the ability to be matchmade with randomly generated teams that frequently can’t contend with them.

The gameplay that pervades those matches is degenerate in most cases. It always has been – but especially since the release of classic, as a result of more people being able to progress their rank at one time.

It’s a more pervasive problem in classic than it was in vanilla for that reason.

We’re asking for authentic vanilla gameplay in a game which is presupposed to emulate it.

I find the idea fairly magnetic, myself.

ah i see. so by adhering to your point of view, you see it as me not wanting to fight other premades. fair enough. then why are only puggers making threads about this?

Blizzard doesn’t care. Stop queuing.

Must be why they changed the score screen to stop you guys from scouting.

the reason they did that was to keep groups from automatically leaving when they saw they would have to go against me

Xrealm needs to go, then everyone will be in a premade automatically, as you know the people in your games.

That´s what makes pre 1.12. pvp to the best in MMO history. It was you and your faction, of whom you knew everyone.
