How to access my EU account when Battlenet (Launcher) is offline

This happened before, and it happened today. Battlenet offline, Launcher therefore offline. Can only access my US account using the WoW executable. Is there a way to make a WoW shortcut on the desktop that will allow me access to my WoW EU account When Battlenet/Launcher is offline? Because this will happen again, battlenet down and I’m stuck with only acessing my US account.

One would think there should be a way the shortcut could access the EU account by simply adding a switch in the target window located in the shortcut properties.

Thank you,

Here is what I just did to access my EU license:

  • Open the CONFIG.WTF file found within your WTF folder.
  • Edit this line: SET portal "US" to say SET portal "EU"

Then when you click the WOW.EXE file to launch the game, it should load up your EU version.

But be aware, the realms appear to be offline – or at least mine (Turalyon) did.

Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to work for me. /cry
Just loads up US accounts. Thanks for trying.

Thank you Kyzera for pointing me in the right direction. With some more manipulation, adding the wow account to the list in the config file seem to have worked. Thank you very much I’m back on Moon Glade!

Blizzard should make this information available for everyone. All you do is make a backup of the config.wtf file in case one makes a mistake. or delete it and the program will remake it. Not like a client can destroy wow by editing it. lol

Well, that is a bummer. Wonder why we had different outcomes.

Hopefully, someone else can offer some insight into a workaround.

I made a backup of the working config file and renamed it to configEU.wtf because I’ll need it again in case Battlenet goes down again. Thanks for your help.

What I had to do was go to the Line “SET accountList” and put in the correct account name. And it worked just fine.

You’re welcome. That is great that you were able to get it working. Have fun on EU.
