I get more FPS with Game Mode, but they added widgets that you can’t put on your desktop.
Holding off on Win11 myself. Waiting for AMD/MS to implement the Zen L3 cache latency fix, which is hopefully going to be next week.
Not that I have any reason to change. But I’m curious, and it’s going to be inevitable.
Yeah, I heard about the AMD problem with Windows 11. Works great on Intel chips.
I have the 5900x. I have had 0 FPS loss. In cinnebench R20 my MC score went up by 2% with windows 11 and my SC score stayed the same. Temps however are more consistent and lower instead of all over the place like they were on windows 10. To my knowledge only shooter like games were effected. The lower and consistent temps are a pretty good reason
Specs are
- 5900x
- rog dark hero
- 32g 3800mhz CL16 ram
Perfectly fine on my laptop, but it doesn’t do anything too strenuous. Waiting for bumps to be smoothed before upgrading tower.
I like it. Had to switch from the dev build to beta build, which unfortunately involved a reinstall, but working good so far. WoW runs fine to me
The AMD issue was fixed today Griefs. You can stop spamming every thread with it now
Correction: one of the AMD issues was fixed. There is still a performance hit due to the UEFI CPPC2 issue with Ryzen chips. I know you’d like to bury your head in the sand and pretend it doesn’t exist or fall back on your anecdotal experience, but this information is relevant to each of the two threads I’ve “spammed” it in. Sorry to bother you. Nonetheless other people might care. I’m still holding off on the update for my own Ryzen machine.
Get your head out of the sand that’s what she meant
I proved you wrong about your week old information
You’re scared about updating to windows 11 for nothing once more other than “whataboutism”
Sigh… He never gives up.
News when this fix should be publicly released? For those who are not insider members?
For insider members however I can confirm its active

Do windows update
Also install new chipset drivers

Literally all these “bugs” griefs was obsessed about is resolved and is probably shaking that it’s fixed
He’ll be eagerly waiting to tell us another 1% performance loss next
Just for clarity’s sake, you want AMD chipset drivers 3.10.08.506 and to have KB0006746 installed. Core priority fixed by the former, cache latency by the latter.
Might look into installing this later on tonight. Again, no real need… just curiosity. And lower temps are always nice - especially with the amount of video processing I do (sitting in the mid-80s as we speak, and that’s with an NH-D15).
*Ed: Well, so far I give it a resounding “meh”. Temps don’t appear changed, nor does performance - though I have seen some spikes up to 4.5GHz, which I don’t recall seeing before (used to peak around 4.3GHz). A few niggles, though… no facility to change the primary task bar display, no task bar text, slightly more annoying task bar interaction (I’m seeing a pattern), stupid context menu reduction (at least there’s a registry key for that)… but at least it isn’t terrible.
So, yeah, a solid “Meh” from me.
