I have NEVER had such a hard time picking what I want to main and sticking to it lol. Trying to stay away from the mage/warrior popularity pick but every class has its own appeal. How is everyone deciding what to main? Lock, priest, or druid (feral) are seeming pretty tempting

Im picking between classes i kinda like on retail but never played much.
did you play classic originally? I am trying to pick a class that really appealed to me but I was too young and dumb to fully grasp the playstyle lol.

Since my group of friends has settled on playing Horde, I’m playing shaman. Vanilla was the only time in this game’s history I didn’t play a shaman and now I get to do it

ugh lucky, my buddy is rolling shaman and I don’t wanna compete for gear w/ someone I know. Wish he wasn’t cuz a sham would be so fun!

In some ways I’d rather compete for gear with people I know rather than people I didn’t know. But yeah if you will be running a lot of dungeons together, diversity is a great benefit.

If Shaman is what you like i suggest rolling that class. What are the chances you and your friend will do be doing 100% of the content. Either way you will always be competing with others for gear. Play what you like because it will be a grind.

Try this method. Assign each class a number. Then google “random number between 1 and 9.” But before you look at it, ask yourself, “what number am I hoping I get?” This sometimes works. (I think it was on an episode of Friends, but with a coin flip.)
Or try this. Wake yourself up about 30 minutes before you usually do. Take a shower and let your mind wander. It might hit you like a bolt of lightning. (Worked for me.)

What class did ya end up with?
The difficult part of deciding on a main is, unlike in retail, it is a commitment. You’re not going to have seven different level 60’s. Time doesn’t allow for it. I decided on Mage because frankly they’re the most convenient class in the game and have a lot of quality of life perks that no other classes offer.

I’ve played Priest for seven years, and before that I played Warlock.
Thus, I’m probably going to main Priest (I’m dedicated to healing) and alting warlock, but I’m also interested in Mage for the convenience, Rogue and Hunter for how I am in real life.

yeah priest seems cool because it has the dark caster dps (kind of similar to a warlock concept) but also can heal to make it easier to get into groups.
I’m going mage. They are top tier in both PVP and PVE, but most importantly they are very fun to play.

haha you kid, but that is what I’m about to resort to 
I “practiced” for a long time on a private server and went back and forth over which classes I thought I’d be happy with, before narrowing it down to three. Funnily enough, they’re the same three I love on retail, even though they play differently. I’m just a ranged DPS kinda person.
