This is torture, It seems there’s no other zones available but Bastion. Where else can I level and explore??

According to some people Bastion is mandatory for the first character, after finishing with the first character the alts can start wherever they want.

You can leave the bastion once you turn blue.

Do you mean like you finished the campaign but can’t continue to the next zone? I think you need to be 53 to get to the next zone.
I like Bastion, I think the music is nice and the zone is pretty, but I desperately need a way to mute Pelagos.
His voice makes me want to headbutt one of those spike traps in the Maw.

For your first character you have to do the shadowlands story, and the zones are done in a specific order. Bastion, maldraxxus, ardenweald, and then revendreth is last. It HAS to be done in this order, there is no getting around it. But this only applies to your first character. Once you reach level 60 with that character you can forgo the story and level any way you want in any zone you want. You just won’t have access to the story quests and instead will level through the zones side quests and dungeons and some extra world stuff that gets enabled for you.

no i dont know how to get out of bastion because I literally cannot. Im stuck here and oriboz. The other zones are greyed out with no access.
I cannot even swim to them or anything.

you have to complete all the campaign quests. it will literally hold your hand to the next zone. swimming is just a bad idea and like why even play at that point honestly.
Yeah, the order is: Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald and Revendreth.
I used Azeroth Auto Pilot and am at 53.9 with the quest to go to Mal. I also did the first dungeon one time. I guess a lot of people aren’t queuing while leveling so the queue was about 90 min (dps), but it was fun. I’m also on a fresh 50. I had ilevel 82 from the event and no rested.
Dude each zone is a different afterlife separated by the vast cosmos. The wormhole you had to take just to get to bastion should have been a hint.
Which, so we’re clear, is stupid. Just let us level through the quests in any order after the first time.
“Oh no, it wouldn’t make sense, the story would be all broken up. Despite the fact that you’ve already gone through it and know the story correct we don’t want you to be confused, or think it’s disjointed because you specifically chose to do it out of order. We can’t have that.”
It looks like you MUST complete the Achievement “The Path to Ascension” that includes the following Bastion storylines:
Eternity’s Call
The Aspirant’s Crucible
The Temple of Purity
Chasing a Memory
Your Personal Assistant
A Time for Change
A Land of Strife
After completing the last quest, I got a breadcrumb to send me back to Oribos and talk to the “Honored Voice” NPC, after that he/she made me follow the “tour guide” to Ring of Ascension and open the portal to Maldraxxus.

I have to say I hate bastion more then any zone. It takes all the worst of the warrior class hall and adds the blue yellow color scheme I’m sick of. I really hope the other three zones are better.

Completing the main questline and being at least lvl 53 I believe will open it up. I got the quest to go to Maldraxxus after doing that.
I’m one of those players that like to explore different zones, i guess this isnt for me. Thanks for replying all.
you can explore different zones you just need to do the quests first, they are very fast and easy
Yep, it’s much more FFXIV.
They listened to all of the FFXIV fans that populate WoW GD I guess, and finally created a literally “on rails” experience that requires you to check all the boxes in one zone before you can move to the next.
I never thought I would write the following sentence. I guess BFA spoiled me. The choice to hop on any toon and jump right in to 6 different zones was really fun, and provided an illusion of sandboxness. I get that the choice aspect will be there once I hit max and finish the story for my alts but I prefer to level multiple classes in different places at the same time.
I am enjoying the story (a lot more than BFA) but after about an hour of bastion I was really thinking I would love to hop to a different class and hit up a different zone. But there is no way off the train so railroad it is I guess.
