I know cata changed all that, but I still like the vibes I get from west fall, Elwynn, etc.
I want to level a mage now and go through elwynn, westfall, red ridge, duskwood, stranglethorn, searing, burning and then maybe to TBC locations.
How much slower is that as opposed to just doing WoD areas?
I think when ive lvled its pretty fast. Then again i would do herbalism and mining so it made it a bit better.
It goes by pretty quick now. All you can do is shut off your XP gain (dude in Stormwind Keep will do that for 10g) around level 58 and that will keep you from outleveling and being sent to Dragon Isles. Other than that, all zones will scale to your current level.
I have a hunter at level 58 that I will play once in awhile when I just need to chill and listen to some music in familiar zones. It’s fun. Almost through all of EK, then on to Kalimdor! Don’t forget to talk to whatever her name is, the bronze dragon lady that will turn some zones back to the way they were pre-cata. Blasted Lands, Darkshore, Dustwallow Marsh are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Chromie only gives zones Cata-style, no matter the timeline. I just meant talking to Zidormi while levelling so the zones are more linear, since the ones I mentioned zone you in at whatever expac they changed with (WoD, etc). There’s a little word bubble thing where she hangs out and you can turn back the timeline in zone.
Oh dang, I didn’t realize with Chromie it was still Cata-style. You are correct, Zidormi was added in BFA (prepatch I think) since Silithus had the sword through it at that point and it changed it back to pre world stab.
Oh wow zirdomi makes classic zones pre cata? Wow that will be a nostalgia trip.
Also, just in case anyone says - nah I wouldn’t play classic. I did back in the day, it would be nice to have the nostalgia on the way to 70 though!
No, sorry, it only changes things to pre-BFA – that is very post-Cata.
I always read it as Zidromi. shrug
