I’m always curious about this and was recently talking with a few of my friends about how good we think we are at games vs other people.
Now I’m wondering what the populous of WoW forums thinks of themselves as far as skill wise.
Trying to make it simple so we’ll just go with 3 categories with a range of 1-10. Our 3 will be PvE(can be raiding or M+), PVP(Arenas, Normal Bgs or RBGS), and Collecting/Farming(Mounts,Mog,Gold, Mats, Ect)
I’ll give my brief self assesment and my reasoning for the score.
PVE- 4/10.
I’m pretty great at raiding but I just can’t get into M+. I have mythic raided(not this character) but can’t get into high keys.
PVP- 7/10.
Can consistently achieve 1800-2k(with the average being 1400-1600) in arenas,RBGS and hold my own pretty solidly in normal BGs.
Farming- 2/10
I’m awful at farming. Everything. Only reason it’s not a 1 is cause sometimes I can get a wild hair if it’s something I’m desperate for and FORCE myself to stick to farming.
So where do you fall? Are you 3/3 - 10/10 in all aspects? A master of this game?
Maybe you’re like my best friend that only plays solely to collect mogs and pets. Making him a 10/10 collection master but a 1/10 for pve and pvp.

PvE I’m comfortably middle of the pack. No one will ever kick me out of a key or raid for dragging down the group, but no one is ever gonna be promoting me to raid lead or coming to me for in-depth class advice either.
PvP I’m nothing but a free kill for the other team. Except when I’m on my priest. I can really murder on disc. But only against other mediocre players LOL.

I feel I could reach CE/KSH if given a lot of play time.
And if I could reach CE/KSH, I would be on top of the foodchain on PvP.
I think this sums up my skill nicely.
I have buttons and I have an idea of what they do. I press things that appear to work.

PVE 8/10
I can easily push 20+ keys on multiple classes, I just don’t have a push group but I did in the past, I’m also not a mythic raider but I believe that with the proper amount of dedication I could do it.
PvP 6/10
I stomp bgs but I’m very average in arena (Between 1600 - 1800) I’ve peaked at 2k in MoP
Farming 0/10
I buy tokens
11/10 by these standards. You’ll never kick me. But you don’t want me. In any content

With PVE I’m above average. On Raider IO I was ranked 60 or so back in season 3, for arms warrior, on my realm which is one of the biggest servers. I can do raids, m+ etc. But yeah,
PvE - 6/10
I know enough to play and time 15s on my main, clear heroic sepulcher, and overall parse within a decent means but I’m hardly beyond the player performance bellcurve
PvP 1/10
I seldom participate and only do so begrudgingly when it’s for mandatory content like BFA’s azerite essence
Farming - 5/10
If it requires minimal investment and can be cycled on alts, I’ll usually do it. Went real hard with it this expansion and I’m sitting comfortably on 170k gold from just cycling mission tables.

My math. 4/10 pve. I could PROBABLY mythic raid. But hate keys. 7/10 Could PROBABLY get 1800 in arenas but quit once players fight back at 1600. Yea I’m not great. But. Add it. 11/10

I’m confident enough in most cases but its matter of trying. I’d say just about every single thing besides PvP I’m incredibly capable of doing. And often its also on classes/specs that typically people question that are horrible and are incapable of before I show them up.
My general PvE interactions is up there that I could end up “Tanking” as DPS, or rather ripping Aggro off tanks, that much damage but this is on Enhancement and sometimes Rogue and Fury Warrior too, rarely Marksmanship Hunter too if Tanks aren’t careful about their AOE attacks. World content, almost always been able to do the Elite/group stuff solo, although taking a bit doing that alone but it means I know how to be careful, calculated and utilizing my abilities to keep myself alive but that was before 9.2 released, hardly a challenge now. lol
I do Raids but nothing much compared to M+ due to loot variety and stats that are provided with. M+ is where I shine since…well, I play classes that almost all have uncapped AOE in some way but remain largely capable of Single Target. Like Enhancement Shaman and Outlaw Rogue. Its matter of knowing how to play them than people who follow the #&$@ meta that is posted on WoWhead and Icy-Veins. Those kind of players just want to play something easy than try to learn. This similarly falls in Raids but I at least have the brain cells to change my talents a bit, even having gear changed (Mostly the legendaries) to go from Multi-Target to near single target focus.
Other aspects, professions, farming, etc. I find myself capable but not as willing, I make gold enough through dailies and stuff I take advantage of like the Covenant soulbinds that provide materials on top of other stuff as well. Though I do dabble and mostly just gather than craft for easy and simple profit than trying to fight on the Auction House for maximized gains. I’d much rather spend on WoW Tokens to make profits than deal with others who borderline abuse the Auction House.
Overall I feel like a 6-7/10. While not comfortable in PvP that I only bother with it when Comp Stomp starts but I am most capable and confident in doing everything else. This is mostly coming from a player who roleplays. So it does give me a sense of drive and dedication than just merely playing the game as is. Can’t look great without some barriers to break through, whether it is gold, doing Raids/M+, collecting transmogs that would mean doing the former two I mentioned.
I used to think of myself as an above average player. Like 7/10. But recently I feel like many players below me have been leaving the game and I feel more like 4/10 now.
People do m+15 routinely, where I sweat at +8 already. People hit 1800 rating routinely where I sweat even getting to 1600. It feels like the whole economy of skill shifted towards higher end of players. Maybe it’s just me, maybe I’m just getting old.

I’m a solid 4/10 at PvE, 1/10 at PvP.
I’ve played this game for years and still suck. Well, I had a hot string when I was a MW healer doing M+ during BFA…
But consider any attempt at DPS complete trash.

Solid 20/10 for pve, but I’m also lazy as hell and also give up way too easily in group content
I’d never be able to do world first mythic raids cuz 500 wipes would make me uninstall the game and never play it again
Solid 0/10 for pvp
I am terrible at it and do not enjoy it, I got 1800 once and will most likely never do it again
5/10 farming
Depends what I’m farming, sometimes I can just mindlessly zone in on it and other times nah

I cap at Mythic (non-plus) 5 mans. I make those my baby back witch. But I hate dealing with raids of people and I stress out in Heroic Raid.

Competent in PvE, but not a pro. I can do Mythic raiding, but at a slow pace. I can get good parses in raiding in general and I know how to use my abilities, but I’m not that good at having a complete view of the encounter (hence, I don’t lead). In M+ I only push up to KSM and then I don’t try to push further. I’m pretty sure I can do more than that, but my time schedule means that after KSM I only do 1-4 +15s a week for vault, if anything.
I’ve never done competitive PvP. I used to enjoy PvP back in TBC, but I don’t really know how far I can get if I try. I’d say below average in general. Certainly below all the people that really spends time in competitive PvP.
For solo content. Hard to say. I can be efficient and focused when I get motivated, but in general I just don’t have time for it. My time in WoW is 80% raiding, 20% M+ (only for vault) and then there’s just no time left.
