How should they handle Void Knights?

Voltron with a top hat?

Tinkers could have a ranged turret (and support turret) dropping spec, a mecha suit augmentation, and a machine pet class spec that utilizes numerous machines. Their main pet could have part loadouts and a main frame type to determine their role.

Would be pretty unique.

There might be a velf pally or two that walks around SW and then they will literally never be mentioned or gain a shred of spotlight for the rest of time. Just like regular velfs now.

I would hope that they would play a role during the teased Void Wars from Legion.

You’re kidding right? You have to recognize that a mechagnome engineer has zero capacity to meaningfully contribute to group content, other than the CLASS that player has chosen and it’s spells and abilities.

Profession =/= Class

Honestly when they add paladins to other races, I still want it to be light themed. Part of the vibe of paladin is they’re warriors wielding light. Now that said, I would like an incorporation that involve that race’s history and the like, no sudden Nelf converts to the Church of the Holy Light or w/e, just have them channeling Elune like the priests. Honestly, I could imagine, and would personally be fond of, Void Elves maybe just forcing the light through them similarly to how a Forsaken would, a painful and unpleasant process that they do because they insist upon it as their way to help the weak and punish the wicked. It’s an incredibly metal idea for a paladin in my opinion.

Now a Void Knight class itself isn’t necessarily a bad idea, I’m fond of other variants and spins on “Knight that protects the weak” types, just use a strongly different source of magic and a slight variance on the vibe. For example, Dark Knights from FFXIV manage to still fit a sorta paladin ideal while being different power-wise. Death Knights had potential to do this, but miss the mark when they’re slaughtering red dragons for one to be their mount or trying to raise Tirion. Kinda more Neutral rather than the Chaotic Good a “dark knight” type I’d want them to be.

We have seen dark paladins already in the form of tyrant velhari, so it is certainly possible

Your race’s entire existence is insufferable and cringe.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to file my horns and drink some magic.

I think they should solely be paladins just to annoy you.

Void paladins? that’s a yes from me.

**Alleria tried to make sense of it all. She searched the Void’s knowledge for answers. When none came, **

glimpsed a truth: Turalyon screaming silently as his soul was ripped from his body.

I have said before and I’ll say it again. It looks like one needs to use BOTH void and light to get the “truth”. A concept important to paladins. So a “Penance/Discipline knight” could work for the void elves.

Yeah I think any sort of Void knight class should be saved for a new thing and not slapping Purple void onto Paladin stuff. A discipline style Paladin having to balance the Void infused in them with the Light they’re trying to bring into themselves is the only way I’d really want Void Elf Paladins. The Light is just integral to WoW Paladins, it can be a culture specific interpretation and all, but its gotta be the Light as the main power.

Ah, yes, just what the alliance needs: another class to dominate over the horde.

The Horde will always be inferior to the Alliance. It’s why we’ve won every war against them during WoW.

Not another class. Paladins who wield the void or “Dark magics” have existed for years. Dark paladins who wield the darkness have been around since BC. Basically, the Dark Vindicators of the Burning Legion, the corrupted paladins who lost faith, but still wield their powers for themselves, and so on. Have been around for over a decade.

Void elves harnessing the void and the light to wield the powers of the paladins wouldn’t be unheard of.

Paladins have always been a class dominated by the Alliance. I mean, aside from Liadrin nearly every major named paladin is of an Alliance race.
