How pro's use omni bar?

I’m just curious how most of the best pvp’ers, (gladiator and above) utilize omnibar. It seems like between nameplatecooldowns and omnibar, there can be quite a bit of duplication which can clutter up your UI a bit.

Right now, i set up 4 bars, but i’m thinking its just too much. I have one in upper left of screen for defensive cds, another bar in upper right for offensive cds, a bar in the upper middle for cc type abilities, and then interrupts at bottom middle of screen below cast bar.

What do you use? How do you best utilize omnibar?

I think its something you naturally just get used to. There’s no particular “best” way to track cds because its different from person to person. I like to track a few cds and all kicks just above my action bars so its not hindering my screen vision in arenas. Ik some players like to track it up top or place it towards the center of their screen. And obviously you can mix it up, as you said, per your preference so you have some situated in different areas of your screen for easier tracking access.

I don’t segregate too much. It’s all like right near my cast bar at the bottom middle. I have two bars. One for important things to track. I don’t clutter this too much, just the really big deals. Many others I can keep a mental note of, especially if they’re “reactable.” I then have a smaller bar to the left and slightly lower for interrupts. That’s it.

yea, i think its somewhat individual, just wasn’t sure if I was overdoing it. Would be interesting to know what kind of things pro’s track, and what is not important enough. I think I have a good grasp on this, but would be cool to see.

Also, the only annoying thing is battlegrounds when you have so many players CDs up at the same time so screen is filled compared to arena’s. Anyone have a work-around for that? or just something you have to put up with?

One can be for CD/abilities and one for casts especially if you are a caster/healer so you can see the kicks etc.

I think the limit is 36 abilities on one bar to track? if that’s the case I’d have more than that to track for CD/abilities

I’m not a pro but I put Omni bar under my nameplate for CDs my team needs to react too. Bigdebuffs doesn’t really show everything so i put win condition abilities on Omni bar so it will pop up the moment they use it.

I’m a really visual player if I’m looking at shaman I’ll see doomwinds totem go down, bigdebuffs is gonna show disarm so I can watch for the trinket/bop= my turn to react and Omni bar is gonna be slightly higher on the screen for an extra flash if it’s ascendence.

It’s all super personal tho it can be used for whatever you need it to be

UI adjustments take some getting used to, so first bit of advice I’d say is if you want to make a change, play several games with it before deciding it’s not working.

I have four separate omnibars.

The one nearest my character in the center tracks enemy stuns like kidney, storm bolt, leg sweep, etc. this helps me to know when I can expect a go and to try to pre blur / darkness stuff.

Otherwise, I track enemy defensive cd’s just above my bottom left action bar, enemy offensive cd’s above my bottom right, and I have a bar dedicated to healer cleanses above enemy arena frames (more upper-right).

For me it’s helpful to divide different categories because when everything is jumbled together it can be more difficult to spot exactly what I’m looking for as quickly as I’d like

1 bar, right above each gladius frame, on the bar they are ordered offensive on left, defensives on the right, and interupts and dispels right outside the frame. i’m not a pro though. Basically it’s like gladiusex, which i would use, if they updated more often.

Interesting, I use the namplatecd addon which sounds like it does a similar thing to what you do here. I’m not sure if it’s unneeded because omnibar already does this, or if its beneficial to have cd’s showing in two places.

My addons aren’t really necessities I’m weird and hear enemy cds from in game sound and can visually see stuff like intervene wings just fine my Omni bar is really just for the big CDs so I can react as quick as possible (drop zones as wings flashes) and bigdebuffs is weird for me but I never rly set it up

You never setup bigdebuffs? I didn’t know there was any real setup to it.

i have mine all set up nice and i don’t even see it in a match bc i tunnel vision so bad

If you’re using gladiatorlossa turn it off or use it very minimal, like for when the enemy uses interupts. When I used to use lossa heavily I wouldn’t look at my frames at all which is bad because you don’t get used to being aware when they are nearing coming off of cd

This post shows exactly why pvp is not pvp anymore. Rating is a meme in this game and hold no real meaning when it comes to skill. FoTM, meta comps, and addons get you rank. Skill has been removed from a game that already took very little of it.

All that is fine also, but just don’t lock gear behind rating because some players don’t use FoTM, meta comps, or addons

Umm… Is OmniBar something I should be using?

I only use losa

Going to dl it right now. Any other good addons for arena?

there’s an option to disable it in BGs and World PvP

I mean lossa isn’t really bad, as long as you are able to use other information as well. Lossa doesn’t tell you “hey, rogues kick will be ready in 2.3 seconds, plenty of time for a 1.5 flash heal, but try juking with the next one!”. Omniar however will tell you information like this. It’s easy to just listen to lossa but in reality, looking at an icon is like 0.2 seconds to comprehend while lossa will take over a second for you to actually comprehend because of the time it takes to speak the whole word and however long it takes you to listen to it. By the time you hear cyclone, their’s only like .5 seconds left on the cast, while if you see it visually, you have most of the cast time to react.

As for additional addons, maybe something for nameplates. Personally I use elvui, its pretty hard to setup but I see exactly what I need to see on peoples nameplates and nothing extra

Not sure i’m following you here. This post was specifically about one addon, one which has been utilized heavy in arena for many years now. Also, addons overall have been heavily utilized since day 1 of arena.

you put kicks and CDs on there and you watch them to see whats on CD and how long
