Decided to compare some values.
Master of deception: 3 points each (5/5 is 3 levels)
Night elf: 5 points (1 level)
Heightened senses: 3 points each
Cateye potion: 10 points (2 levels)
Warlock Paranoia aura: 30 points (6 levels)
Perception: 50 points (10 levels)
My recollection was Perception in Vanilla raised your effective level for detecting stealth by 1.
Pretty much the only use is if youāre going to be PVPing as a rogue. A human rogue with perception might detect a horde rogue 1 yard further out than the horde can detect you.
In reality things move so fast, I donāt think it makes any real difference.
its handy but its not OP, only usefull for guarding flags in arathi
Iāve heard the stories of the notorious orc rogue Angwe from back in the day sitting on the ships ganking and always wondered why a few 60 humans didnāt just camp him and use perception.
It is āon useā so ask yourself how you are going to to know when to use it? Think about itā¦
With that settled, people donāt play human for Perception. PVE players play human for the +swords and +reputation.
3 points per rank for 6 points total which negates 2 ranks of deception, not 4.
Catseye goggles give 17 points. So, with the potion, Heightened senses, goggles, paranoia (all rogues have pocket felhunter duh), and perception you have 113 points for detection or 22 3/5 level difference. Nelf rogues can get a maximum 33 point bonus to stealth (28 for others)
Looks like I misread the heightened senses one.
Itās all right, happens to all of us.
