How powerful is feral/guardian druid in lore?

IMO feral/guardian druids look kind of weak in lore unless I am missing something.

I mean anyone with a sword can kill a tiger and if the opponent is able to use spells I think a feral/guardian, would not have any chance against him.

Am I missing something? I am trying to build an idea of a class fantasy for my druid

I would like to read your opinions

Ferals and guardians are not ordinary animals they are magical animals so their abilities and expertise in combat are supernatural

They’re definitely capable. Animals like that are inherently better than most of us physically. They’re stronger, faster, have built in weapons with claws/teeth. Cats have stealth and agility, bears are walls of muscle and toughness.

Add on the intelligence of a druid who knows how to fight against others and it’s formidable. Magic does make them tougher too. They can heal themselves and toughen their hides, stuff like that. Druids are upgraded animals.

Other types of magic can always be tricky for anyone to counter, but if a giant ferocious cat was sprinting at me I wouldn’t have much faith in a sword. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am not seeing how a cat can fight a giant monster from azeroth or any giant elemental over there.

The exact same problem applies equally to warriors and hunters. It applies slightly less but still relevantly to paladins, death knights, and demon hunters. The answer to all problems of “why am I so powerful?” in this game is “magic.” Legendary relics, enchanted blades, blessings from the titans, etc., etc.

The real, real reason though? Infinite respawns. Look at how often our characters die. We arent actually that strong. It takes at least 10 people yo kill a proper raid boss, and most of them fall pretty low on the power spectrum according to the story.

Nothing makes sense. I would encourage you not to think about it too hard.

P.S., any fool with a sword can kill a tiger. Any tiger can kill a person with a sword. Don’t let “can” define your “will.”

Go get into a cage with a fully grown hungry tiger and see how well your day goes.

Druids are really powerful, but if they so much as stub their toe they’ll start whining about The Nightmare and go crazy.

Have you seen the cinematic where Malfurion pretty much destroy in seconds a whole horde platoon in Bear form?

Yeah i’d say a skilled Druid is just as scary as anything else in this game.

The same could be said for other classes too though. Even the greatest of warriors should be roasted alive by a fire elemental or punted away by some giant thing. A lot of beating those types of enemies comes down to strategy or teamwork, not brute force. There’s also an element of “it’s just gameplay, overlook it” here.

But claws can still sever muscles and arteries. Teeth can pierce skin and crush throats and bones. Avoid getting hit and deal enough damage to something eventually it’ll go down.
