The faction war tends to bring all of the various races under one banner that loses that races actual lore value in an annoying way so I don’t want to argue the point of which faction is stronger but rather what races are the power houses in the lore.
Take for instance the Dwarves who have had some awesome development Since cata. With Mora(not sure if I spelled that right) as the leader of ironforge the Bronzebeards wildhammer and Dark iron are now under one banner giving the Dwarves three separate Fortress cities with each one having a capable army ready to aid the alliance. I would argue that the dwarves actually bring more to the table at this point than the humans.
what are your opinions on the topic what races are on the rise and what races are in decline?
Dwarves are probably the most powerful playable faction. Strongest race on Azeroth in general is probably the goblins of the steamwheedle cartel, simpky because they seem to have cities on 2 continents and havent been losing people left and right. If all the troll tribes unite under one banner they would probably be the strongest, but thats a dream that likely will never happen.
I can agree that the dwarves are pretty strong but don’t count the Tauren out either. With the taunka, and high mountain tauren returning to the horde you have the vast majority of tauren tribes under one banner they are bringing a lot to the table as well. The orcs have also revitalized to a certain extent with the mag’thar in outland and AD arriving.
Dude i’m with you 100% but that stems less from not being powerful and more of bad leadership like it would make sense to reunify the empire and set out to reclaim territories that were traditionally troll but you can’t reunify and then immediately try to retake territory from the horde and alliance that’s insanity to declare war on the two most powerful factions in the world.
I think that Forsaken are on the top, because i think they have the most deadly army for the following reasons:
It’s an army who don’t need eat or rest. That mean a lot. Especially in sieges and long war campaigns.
Undead they don’t get sick, they don’t need to heal wounds, they just fix what is broken in his body, and after that he can back to battle. While a living creature would need a lot of time to recover.
In battle they can use toxic agents deadly for the leavings, harmless for them.
They can rise as zombies their own dead troops, and the dead enemys troops, during the battle. That means that every friendly and enemy bringed down counts like an extra brainless zombie soldier fighting for you.
After wining a battle they can rise their enemys and put them in their side, as they were doing with nefls recently.
Forsakens as every undead are very weak against the Light, but there are not enough paladins and priest to stop an undead army.
That’s my two cents.
Edit: Also like humans, Forsaken are the best on war strategy, Nathanos is according to lore a military genius.
an interesting thought they are extremely lethal right now, however I think the trolls are on the rise again with the zandalari and dark spear now within the horde and an assault by the alliance they may very well be able to rally the various tribes into a unified troll uprising. I don’t think there is a troll tribe right now that doesn’t have a problem with the humans.
Yeah when I heard faction war I assumed it would show case all of the races in the game fighting each other on multiple fronts in the game so hints the term battle for AZEROTH but what we got is undead vs the world
Sorry I don’t disagree about the fact that this is just a joke but as a student in classical litterature I just want to correct you by saying that “phobos” means at the same time reject and fear (it has an active and a passive meaning which is very rare for a noun). So xenophoic does mean to be afraid
of OR to reject strangers.
On topic : I think each race as its own strenght for example the Zandalari would be crushing anyone in a frontal fight on land, the Kultiran would win any battle involving some navy, Nelfs can still be a threat in a guerilla war, Forsakens have a good navy and an infinite army, and dwarves have strong holdings and machinery.
But I think the more balanced are humans with a good amount of forts, troops, spies and boats.
I’ve never really understood this meme. In point of fact, the French have won plenty of wars. For example, the Hundred years war. And even though they ultimately lost the Napoleonic wars, that was only after roflstomping almost everyone who tried to face them one on one.
The trolls are more like indigenous people who have been largely displaced.
