i was 19, turning 20 and in art school when wow released. i had ALLLLL the time in the world. i raided 5 nights a week in a world top 30 guild, lol.
I’m married now… i recruited him as a priest into the guild in wrath. We’ll be playing togther. We don’t have kids and I work from home, soooo… Gonna be no-lifing it hard for a little bit, just like the good ol’ days.
16 in 2005! My bf at the time started playing with his friends and I made a char on his account and got hooked. Later for my 17th birthday, I got my own account that I still use to this day.
I was 15 when I first started playing. 28 now. I got it after an old friend told me to check it out. I had only ever played Runescape as far as these open worlds go. Day 1, my jaw was on the floor when i logged in to WoW for the first time. I remember seeing these giant trees in Elwynn and all the people fighting stuff. I made a warrior and started fighting stuff. I was so deeply in love. That’s when the addiction started.
We’re the same age. It will be interesting to see us older gamers that grew up with Asheron’s call, Ultima Online, DAOC style pvp mentality go up against all these 20-30 year olds who grew up with dumbed down wow
I was 23, in the Army and a single dad to two young kids. Now, I’m a 38 year old civilian, the youngest graduated high school this June and the kids are in college.
I was fresh out of high school when I started playing WoW. I remember my sister gave me the game as an early Christmas present and I played on and off due to college for the first year, before diving in hardcore for 05-06. Raided all the vanilla dungeons, and was one of the first hunters do the Rhok’Delar quest. Now I’m 32, with a wife and a child and I’m back for the nostalgia.
