How old are you & what expac did you start?

How old can just be by decades or 1/2 a decade. Why did you start?
And what expansion?
Have you stayed subbed the whole time.
Oh, and have you ever noticed someone take an unaccountable dislike to you?
How long on the forums?

I’m 60. I started in MoP because my then late 20’s sons wanted to help take my mind off a bad diagnosis and serious of events. It was fun while they and their gf’s played. My first mmorpg and game since Oregon Trail, lol! So my first lessons were how not to run into walls! /grin

I ask only because I’m trying to figure the midland age and experience…(which technically also doesn’t tell much,) I’m talking to on the forums. Some people are wiser than their years, and others less. So it really doesn’t matter that much.

I’ve never broken sub, but take breaks. Since I never know when and for how long. Main a BM hunter.

I tried the forums earlier on, but since I didn’t know what I was talking about or anyone else I didn’t start consistently until last February. Mostly because of covid, I’d grown a thicker skin, and knew enough about game not to sound entirely stupid - though still make gaffs.

Most people were extremely kind and helpful - and put up with my bipolar moods. Most have moved on this year. Had my share of arguing and never really disliked anyone to mute them except two, but at least I knew why, and the feeling was mutual. Have noticed only a handful take unaccountable dislike, (I’m sure there’s more, lol,) but that’s all. Made some really great friendships though.

Because I started in Mists when WoD hit I was a little weirded out but thought that was how the game worked. Some how every expac the stakes changed.

I honestly didn’t know about streamers until this year or to use YouTube until end of Legion. Yup, felt old then!

Okay, anyone else feel like sharing?

I’m 41, tried WoW during vanilla, it wasn’t for me, cam back during wrath played for a little while. Quit again, lost that account somehow and came back again during Cata.

27, started the week before TBC prepatch.

I kinda alternated between WoW and CoH until the latter got cancelled. My first account was really my uncle’s, and I got my own after that account was stolen in Cata.

I tend to ignore the forums, just pop in on occasion to combat the worst takes I’ve ever seen.

Should have also asked what other games you played in between too?

What’s CoH? Probably should of said I might need some abbreviations explained. /smile

Lot’s of things, mostly single player stuff like elder scrolls things like that.

32, I’ve played since day one of Vanilla (with a couple small breaks and one big one from mid-Cata to the start of WoD).

Depends on what you mean by unaccountable lol

I dunno, I’ve been around for a while, been a lot more active in the last few years though.

I usually like your posts - you and Rhielle ( and others) are encyclopedias of the game, and are usually a pretty good judge of character just from their writing.

I’m 40 and I’ve played since the game came out. Pre-ordered the collector’s edition, etc.

I’m 31.

I played classic/TBC in high school but internet was sparse for me back then and it was pretty tedious so I spent more of my time in the game socializing when I could and never got past leveling.

Eventually had to stop because of said sparse internet, ended up buying the game again at the end of Cata when I was 20. Bombing theramore was my first feat of strength, still remember my buddy rushing me to max so I could do that scenario with him.

Started Pandaria and adored it, still my favorite expansion in every way and solidified my love for the horde especially. I hated garrosh and killing him ended up being my first ahead of the curve achievement, was great.

Draenor everything went downhill, I just couldn’t muster any interest, and it felt like there was nothing to do. Started playing FFXIV at this time and stuck with that game mostly. Came back during legion for a bit but wasn’t that into it, but then Highmountain came out and reminded me how much I love tauren so started playing more from then on until today. Though I did zone out a bit in the second half of BFA due to the poor class design.

I’ve been on the forums since MoP, posting under my old main Kenshimoo. I met my boyfriend who I live with on these forums even, they’re special to me.

I have noticed a few people taking a dislike to me, I’m really not sure why. All of my posts are just trying to be helpful, though I could probably word things better. It’s also noticeably more so since I stopped posting on a tauren-not sure why foxes make people so mad.

I’m 35. Started in vanilla, when I was 19. April 2005 I believe. It is terrifying to think about!

I did briefly unsub during WLK when I went to uni. But I resubbed after just a couple of weeks (and dropped out of uni after 6 weeks - unrelated to WoW!)

I’ve been a regular forum dweller also since vanilla. I still miss the OT forum.

26, started back in BC.
I’ve been subbing on-and-off, but nowadays I mostly just play in arenas and RBG’s with friends.

Some people in the arena forums aren’t a fan of how much I voice my opinion on the state of warlocks. To be fair they’re not necessarily wrong – I kinda just repeat myself.

31, MoP in 2013. Got max level around 5.3 I think.

I have been playing since Dec 4th 2004, My age- over 45 ~

Hmm, I’m 55. Started playing near the end of vanilla, maybe three months or so before TBC launched??? I distinctly remember getting close to 60 on my lock and then being bummed out that the level cap changed to 70. I held this toon at 29 for a very long time to play random BGs before there was an xp reward.

I’ll be 39 next month. I started in 2004, December of.

Lol…nice evasion! Kinda what I figured with you. You sometimes remind me of me at that “over 45.” Past the early “terrible 40’s” when you think you know more than you do…at least that was me.

Remind me of my sons. Almost that age and started with Warcraft I though.

I’m 40. Started in Vanilla after playing EQ and FF11.

Over the years I have taken a few breaks. Mostly because of work. The only time I actually canceled my sub because of WoW was after Legion launched.

I’ve been on the forums for 4 or 5 years now. Although I changed my forum main 2 years ago.
