How often do you report or ignore someone?

I reported some person way back when for cheating/hacking (flying, moving through walls and whatnot) in a WSG I was in.

I’ve capped my Ignore List.

Twice.

lmao.

So existing, gotcha.

Depends on if I’m watching trade chat or not. If there is a bunch of people spamming the usual… posterior orifice [insert skill here] crap… then I report many times an hour. Otherwise, only if someone is being utterly toxic or spamming expletives.

Ignore list… only for RMT whisper spammers.

It’s amazing what you can read in Battlegrounds.

lmao.

Nope. Inappropriate chats.

You say tomato I say tomato, but if you’re reporting as often as you say then we both know I’m right.

That’s fine. It’s not an inappropriate word.

You can exist without saying inappropriate stuff. It’s really easy actually.

You can exist without finding everything inappropriate too, you don’t have to live day to day seeking to be offended so you can “fight” whatever imagined opponent you think exists.

I only blocked gold sellers, everyone else i don’t, im a product of the wild west internet back in the day and have developed very thick skin. It is pretty rare someone gets under my skin, but most the time im kind to everyone so people usually don’t start crap with me.

You’re the one imagining the things I’ve seen and reported. Whereas I actually know.

I know you said you report things “all the time,” and I also know there is nowhere near enough stuff that needs reporting for it to be more than occasional. From these simple facts I can deduce you are imagining the things you report as ‘inappropriate’ although why you would do that remains a mystery, not one I care to know the answer to mind you so don’t bother telling me.

When people make mistakes, it’s natural for people to get defensive. Tone is lost via text, and it’s very easy for messages to be perceived entirely in a different light than intended.

Any denizen of the internet knows this, it happens all the time. It takes very little effort to use some tact to make sure your message is not intended to be passive aggressive or anything other than helpful to avoid any room for misinterpretation.

Maybe it’s just my upbringing, or the fact that I’m getting older/worked in many different types of jobs with many personality types…

But I don’t have any patience for people who refuse to take the time to be respectful. Sometimes we all slip up, but telling a PUG they’re bad or even anything along those lines is just not acceptable behavior. It accomplishes nothing positive.

I have absolutely zero respect for people who refuse to take ownership in upsetting other people, and I will absolutely not suffer the company of people who do it and then try to gaslight others by blaming the other person for being “soft.” Most of them don’t even realize that they’re projecting when they do that.

It’s inflammatory, and it’s absolutely intentional and trying to put all the blame on the other person for being offended is both manipulative and emotionally immature. The worst part is the lack of concern or empathy and willingness to make other people upset simply because they are too insecure to risk being seen as “soft” by showing any signs of compassion.

I see that kinda behavior mostly on the forums, and occasionally in LFD, and I just ignore them. If they’re being very offensive, I will report them/kick them out of my groups.

Honestly it’s pretty rare.

The last one was clear back in dragonflight. Had a tank lose his mind at a dps that accidentally pulled a mob.

The dude went on a huge rant about how Azralon/Ragnaros players are all bad, then started calling the dps sexually explicit insults, THEN he sat down and refused to tank unless the dps got kicked. All while still cursing and throwing insults.

I don’t think I’ve ever encountered someone who truly embodied the word “Toxic” until I met that dude. Everyone in the group reported him. The dude was unhinged

That is absolutely wild.

I have all the patience in the world for people who are new/polite/a good sport/good vibes, but absolutely zero patience for that kinda stuff.

I’ve can’t say I’ve encountered anyone that unhinged.

Usually it’s players that get annoyed cause someone messed up a mechanic and they just can not keep their mouth shut… they drop some passive aggressive message in chat and then the tank leaves or some crap.

I don’t get why that kinda stuff is tolerated. Like how hard is it really to be like “Oh, let me know if you want an explanation on how that mechanic works, that one tripped me up at first too.”

I try to get those kinda players out of my groups. If I can’t get them outta my group – I’ll just take the deserter buff and leave, gives me time to take the floof for a walk.

Trade/LFG chat on my server is full of people bashing Harris/Biden/Dems, promoting Trump/Republicans, so I report anyone in trade chat/LFG that engages in political talk.

That does get pretty annoying. I usually just filter out everything except /say/party/guild/instance loot and whispers. Gave up trying to parse through that mess a long time ago. Usually it’s just walls of people selling gold anyways lol.

It was a whole trip lol

And the dps that pulled the mob was super chill. He owned it no problem. It really wasn’t a big deal, he just backed up a little too much

Then the tank lost his mind and we all stood there like shocked Pikachu reading what this guy said in total disbelief

Between zero and zero times. I have no people on my ignore list and I only report bots, which aren’t really people. So, what ever that averages out to be… I think zero.

If people look at chat and get offended, then leave chat. Reporting them is absurd.
