You could insert ‘X’ class to my statement. It was anecdotal evidence of an experience i had last night in a bg. Would it be better for you if i said i got divine toll critted to death?
It has little to do with the original point, which is : Sometimes you die to things in unrated bgs outside of your control, regardless of gear or personal skill due to the nature of the enviroment.
Is that clear enough for you?
PS- Obviously you are a boomkin player sensitive to incoming nerfs.
versatility is split into two parts, if you have 10% vers, then you do 10% more damage or healing with your spells, but you also take 5% less damage.
the pvp trinket set bonus only gives you a bonus to the offensive portion, meaning you have 14%/5% effective verse.(the math doesn’t work exactly like that tho, the % increase is to your rating, and then your class stat scaling effects go on top of it, its not a true flat % increase.)
I very rarely die in BGs whether i’m playing disc or shadow and as shadow I frequently kill rogues in this set that I’m wearing. This game is now very reflexive and using your cooldowns fast and effectively is the only way you will live. Some rogues use every single cooldown in their opener to kill you, you should be able to recognize this and use pain suppression immediately when you know they intend to go hard. You should have shield up 24/7. Use the psychic voice talent so you can catch them in a full duration fear. Save your trinket when you know you can pain suppress their opener so you don’t up blinded, every rogue’s worst nightmare is the enemy having trinket for blind. If you are a healer hopefully someone actually comes and helps you instead of letting a rogue beat on you for a full minute. You should have absolutely no problem surviving at least a full 30 seconds minimum.
Lons story short… never let power word shield drop off before the opener happens and you CAN cast Pain Suppression whilst stunned with no need to trinket.
In my limited experience, as long as you actually cast PS on the target receiving the burst… they will live 95% of the time.
I hate to come off rude but realistically as a disc priest… you actually have the advantage in that match up
If you chose Venthyr then you have access to General Draven talents this week. You could try using the Service in Stone talent to decrease damage taken by 10% while under 40%. This talent in addition to having over 20% versatility should be a big help with staying alive during a stun. I only unlocked the General talents yesterday but I have noticed a difference in survivability in the few BGs I tested it in.
