How much to tip for craft

For public crafts, I wouldn’t worry about tipping too much. You are required to provide all the mats and you are gambling as to the quality you will be getting. The people sitting around snipping public work orders are doing so to get knowledge points/first time craft perks or because they have their ‘resourcefulness’ so high they get free mats from what you posted. Both are worth it to them to do the craft regardless of tip.

You ‘paid’ the real price for your craft when you bought the mats you needed from the AH.

keep in mind that for a 636 ilvl weapon you will spend your week concentration, so 10k sound fair to me.

I just ask them to send a personal order. If it takes concentration ask for 2500g per 100 con. I havent had any issues with people at these rates. In public orders I offer 5k on 619 crafts, 10k on 636 crafts, havent had any issues finding people to make things for me.

If they supply good mats, I say any tip is fine and they usually give 3-6k. Sometimes they are lower, sometimes they are much higher.

I would only charge for concentration if we were getting more than one order a day but currently they are just enough to keep me from capping it.

I do 2500g for small stuff and 5000g for larger armor items.

My standard reply is 5-10k when anyone asks, and everyone seems to be happy to pay it. If it’s a 636 recraft, it’s closer to 15-20k. Weaponsmithing.

they should be tipping you for the ability to gain a skill up point!

Not really. If you provide 3* mats, then it’ll cost me like 200-300 concentration.

Whatever you want Resourcefulness means they get mats back from crafting a % of the time, so if you are crafting something with R3 matc and they are pushing the crafting button all day, they will make more gold than you ever could running around trying to farm gold with a gathering profession. Now if you are forcing them to use concentration because you were cheap on mats, that is a different story. Don’t use public work orders for anything with ranks; even if you tip $100,000, someone without the skill can pick it up and craft you a dumpsterfire. You can post public orders for rankless items and people will fill it even if you tip 1g. Otherwise, stick to guild orders and personal orders for anything with ranks because it lets you set the requirement for the rank of the item and ask your crafter their price because that’s what it is a price, not a tip.

I can craft 636 weapons without any concentration. Just need to be properly skilled.

yeah only time someone cant do this is if the person with the weapon cheaped out on their 619 and used r2 mats or just barely have the crafting unlocked

that isn’t enough

I will never give someone 5 star for those prices and I might not even pick up the order in the first place given we only get 4 public orders.

which is why the people who actually care about crafting to make gold post in trade

im not the person to ask, i never know so i always way overtip lol

After I craft for myself I look in the mirror and say “Stay in school, kids.”

Depends on the server. Im on alliance area-52 (low pop side of server), so i just ask for tips.
Most people tip 10k for staffs and offhands which i found fair and cool, theres a few people who give about 3k-5k, which is also fine.
People who demand you to craft their item for 1k and call you names because you ask for too much is def not cool tho.

I tip my guildie friends anywhere between 10k-15k initial craft me supplying everything and 5k-7.5k for recrafts.

Dont be cheap, leveling their professions is also expensive.

Also, its not like I have all my gear crafted, so I’m cool with that.

It never is.

what a silly statement - plenty of crafting happens and both parties are happy with prices. Takes 10s of thousands of gold to level up a profession now, especially with the patron orders. Takes 2 minutes and no gold cost to go and do a world quest for 800g.

No one would bother with professions if they only got paid 1k gold and it cost them 5k gold to keep up with the KPs each week.

I usually tip 5k.
