Curious to know the answer to this as it will help dictate what I take into 9.0 as a toon in tank mode allows me to take on content i’m under-geared for when a new patch drops. But I was concerned by warriors lack of self sustain? Whereas as pretty much every other tank seems to have more reliable self heals.
Tanks even prot warriors don’t die in the open world. They pretty much trains mobs all they want.
You either are afk or taking on a raid boss solo to be having issues.
Hey Welcome to Warrior forums
Every tank is on a simple scale. More self healing, more damage taken, less self healing, less damage taken. Lack of self healing does not equal lack of ability to stay alive without a healer.
What we lack in healing we make up in armor, Blocking and absorbs. Not taking dmg and healing is still dmg not taken.
What makes us special is damage, our ability to pump numbers. If you find yourself in wpvp and in need of a heal find a random mob and take it down for a quick victory rusg
Hmm. So it kinda sounds like dh when you need an orb or two I’ll deliberately tag a couple adds for the heals.
if you are used to self heal tank like VDH, Pally,Druid, monk, DK you will need few time to get used to warrior. No self heal doesn’t mean warrior die easily. You can sustain long time without healing thanks to damage absorb and damage. if you need a swiss army knife for solo content prot paladin is ur best choice.
In solo play you’ll have to get healing through victory rush. So if you’re trying to kill elites in not so great gear your best bet is to pull in some smaller mobs while doing it, when you need some healing just focus kill the little one and heal up with victory rush.
Surprisingly by running 3x Bloodsport every time I use ignore pain I leach 4-5% of all dmg, this adds up
