How much renown can you grind in a week when switching to a new covenant?

I want to switch to a new covenant and wondering how fast I can get my renown up for the soulbinds ect.

I don’t think there’s an actual limit (until you reach the current cap) but the drops aren’t guaranteed except for the two weekly ones so it’d take a lot of grinding to catch up that fast.

I don’t think the catch up renown would cover this weeks 2 renown points, but I guess it would technically be possible to catch up on renown in a single week if you held off on this weeks weekly renown quest until after you grind your renown up to 42.

Time wise it’s not too bad, but holy cow is it unenjoyable. You can get a lot from doing lfr, but after that I ithink doing callings while queueing dungeons is the quickest. You’ll also have to complete your new covenant’s campaign quest, because the catch up renown is only active until the point where you can get the last renown from the story. So, if the story gave 4 renown, you’d only get catch up renown until 38 if the cap is 42.

I think that’s how it works at least based in my experience with alts. I don’t recall seeing an in game explanation though.

I did it Wednesday. From 0 to 35 in about 4 hours. Just focus on doing the Covenant campaign first and LFR first. those 2 alone will carry you to near 30. They buffed the amount of renown you get from the campaign. My LFR averaged about 50/50 per boss for all 4 wings.

It’s extremely fast catch up doing the campaign quest with flying mount.

I changed on Sunday. I hit 44 yesterday. Got 45 today. To be fair, I poop-socked it Sunday and Monday. Monday night, I got hard stuck at 33. It still showed “renown available”, but 3 mythics, lfr, then a fourth mythic, and none of them dropped renown. Do not turn in the current renown quests until all of the catch up is done. Monday night, since it was going to reset the weeklies, when I gave up, I turned in the 1000 anima quest to get to 34. The current 2 for weekly renown are the 1000 anima and the Korthia “Shaping Fate” quest. Hold those until you are caught up or just before the weekly reset. Either don’t do them, or just don’t turn them in.
