How Much Money Have You Spent

Is there an easy way to check how much money you’ve ever spent on this game? Like a transactions page that breaks it down? I want to know how bad my addiction is and what it’s actually cost me. My guess, since 2006, somewhere between 10-15k. I want to know for sure tho.

EDIT: found the battle.net transaction page, but it only shows like 6 per page. This is gonna take a while. Here goes lol

When i look at how much money i have spent on WoW since vanilla, i see it as a cost saving activity (along with being entertaining), gaming keeps me from doing other more expensive and sometimes destructive things.

Mechagnomes spend the most, like literally arms and legs. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’d like to think that, but I’m not even to january of this year and I’m already at 1,900 dollars. This is gonna be rough.

If you only paid for subscriptions plus expansions not much above 3100.00…I think…?

Jesus… how?

In the past twenty-two mouths (returned Xmas 2019 after seven year absence) I have spent 16 months of sub time plus one half-price pet plus one name change.

Roughly around $3,000

Makes you wonder where all the money goes! :rage:

I have a million alts and I’m extremely addicted to character services lol. The final number was very embarrassing, considering this account only goes back to 2017, so I only added those up. I’m honestly ashamed of how much I’ve spent on this game in even the last 4 years. 10,221. What the actual f I have a problem LOL

That’s bonkers, i don’t want to sound mean but people like you (whales) are what’s wrong with the gaming industry lol

Don’t want to sound like I’m huffing military grade copium here, but if you enjoyed your time, and had as much fun and memories as any other hobby, then $10k wasn’t so bad, dude.

Let’s say you’re a huge superbike fan, it’s your favorite passtime, and you bought a Kawasaki H2R, that’s $55k right there (excluding equipment, running costs, insurance etc), and I bet you had more mileage out of your $10k then that bike could ever give.

My point is, there are plenty of hobbies and passtimes that make $10k/time you spent on WOW over the years look insignificant.

Even including the other “running costs” of World of Warcraft, PC, Internet etc, it’s still pretty minuscule compared to other pastimes.

I reckon I’ve easily spent $10,000 combined over all Blizz products. The bulk of it would have been in the store buying figurines, shirts etc.

So about twenty-five hundred a year.

So what? I used to spend more than that on booze and cigarettes in a year. And that was back when booze and cigs were a lot cheaper!

This is way healthier. And safer. Enjoy, you only go around once.

Always love when my friends say, DUDE how can you spend $60 on a video game! But then they turn around and blow $100 on a night they won’t remember the next day anyway.

Booze is such a bad deal money and health wise, glad I stopped.

To be fair, the industry preys upon weak people such as myself. Also, character swap. Not sure what happened there lol.

To those of you that broke it down per year, thank you. That definitely calmed me down. 2500/yr is definitely not that much for a hobby - and since this is my only one I didn’t spend money elsewhere really.

It’s a lot of money over a long time but definitely gave me some great memories. That said, I need to control this a lot better. That money could be going towards more productive things like, as Silverleigh pointed out, cigs and booze LOL

I had a colleague at work who literally only played Guild Wars 2 for an entire year, I mean, this guy literally went to work, went home, and played guild wars, it was so insane he got a Christmas card from the development team…

End of the year, he checked his bank account, he had accumulated over $20 000 CASH from literally only playing Guild Wars… :joy:

Bought himself a Volvo with that cash, lol.

I don’t mind paying $15 per month, even the months where I end up playing for like 10 hours total. I don’t mind buying expansions, pets, mounts, or even the silly transmog outfit we got. I bought the 30th anniversary bundle to not miss out like I always did and regret with the Digital Blizzcon goodies. If they added the 3 transmog helms back in the shop I’d buy those too. The only things that pain me to purchase are character name changes and especially server changes. I wish we got “free” ones when buying an expansion or as a credit for being subbed for so many months.

Would love to server transfer some of my most /played characters and not have it cost me 40 hours worth of suffering my crap job.

I buy game time in bulk whenever it was at a significant discount from online and b&m retailers. I played from classic to wrath so maybe spent hundreds tops. Even if I paid full sub price monthly, it is still worth it. The enjoyment I get out of it back then, no other games even remotely come close. I also stopped buying games during that time so that probably evens out. All in all, I know I came out ahead.

roughly 3770… vanilla to now, only took a 4 month break before mop- but around 35 toon xfers and some faction xovers. i’ve only bought one store mount- that dumb golden serpent dragon.
